NIL - Who are the highest paid athletes on campus?

The post on Tyran Stokes got me wondering who the highest paid athletes at Mississippi State are. I would put this in terms of revenue sharing from the athletic department plus outside deals. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm guessing the highest paid rev-share athletes probably have the bigger outside endorsements. I don't think they are any Cavender Twin type situations where a non-revenue sport athlete has huge endorsement deals.

My guess:

1. Josh Hubbard (MBB)
2. Kamario Taylor
3. Isaac Smith
4. Kelly Jones
5. Anthony Evans

After that, it's some combo of:

Dealyn Evans (transfer)
Marquis Johnson (transfer)
Jalen Smith
Will Whitson
King Grace (MBB)
RJ Johnson (MBB-transfer)
Ace Reese (BB)

How badly am I off?

Ace is definitely in the top group. I have no doubt about it.

It would surprise me and just more reason I ain't giving to the NIL. If I gave 20K toward a certain player to get him to stay at MSU, the next thing you know, he would come out on the court or field with a new gold chain, silver chain, and a diamond studded chain with a cross on it, and probably two new teeth imbedded with small diamonds. Being a professional is one thing, being a college athlete should be another, but it's now not. If I want to pay for athletes, I'll just take my 20K or whatever and plop down for a couple Grizzly season tickets and a covered parking space next to the Forum.

One of the mysteries that will always bother me is who did Ronnie Scoops run into at the Atlanta airport that told him not to worry about Ace leaving?

Your list is spot on though I might swap Evans for Reese. Kelly might be over Isaac but I think they get pretty close to the same.

I don't have any frame of reference for baseball players, because no one really covers the NIL side of college baseball and I've heard Robbie Faulk say repeatedly that baseball NIL is a small fraction of what football spends.

It was all a shot in the dark based on how high profile the player is (Hubb, Reese, K1), key returning players who have multiple years at State (Smith, Jones, A. Evans), and players we *have* to have to compete.

Ok… he’s at USF now and by all accounts beating out Van Buren…yes that Van Buren who left here only to go to LSU and then now USF..
We needed a backup last year due to Shapen’s injury history we signed Taylor but needed another guy with some actual experience. We paid him some to get him but put an incentive in there if he were to be the starter. KT surpassed him in fall and in season so LK hit the portal. So what are you gonna try and remember
