Before leaving town he should undo the bad that he created and leave a blank slate to the next athletic Director. As a matter of fact that will put pressure on the university to bring an athletic director that has Basketball connections someone who can come in and hire a coach someone who has skills of communication and bringing people together and most of all the ability to sell the job.. but in the meantime, Barney needs to fix what he created. It’s not difficult. He just needs to go and fire Mark Pope, and in the meantime, hire an interim coach give our new A.D. a full year to find a coach. Which will mean he will have time before any season starts and he will have time in the postseason not to mention he’ll have the ability to evaluate for an entire season. And snag the best up and comer if that’s the direction we go.
Honestly, I think we need a a proven coach someone who can come in day one and not have on the job training. It’s all on Barney if he wants to fix his reputation. You fire the coach who didn’t want to work hard want to put minimal effort, and he put it into a player that already signed with another school for over a month. It doesn’t get any lower than that doesn’t get more humiliating than that..
