if he goes into a shell, its over for him.

That was the beginning of the end for Gillespie.

He has to be accessible.

I don't understand why coaches do this, fans will tolerate more if they just own the mistake - instead of like Calipari sending an assistant coach to the press conference after a loss.

Per KSR, Polacek knew a month ago the stokes had already signed with kansas and tried to tell the UK coaches but they would not take his call. And waiting on stokes caused us to miss on players that WANTED to come. Seriously coach?

Not one of the top targets we recruited and got on campus, committed. WTF Coach?

I am done. Pope needs to be told that barring winning the SEC regular season AND the SECT, plus getting to at least the Elite 8, this is your last season at UK.
Can UK use someone in the media to aid with recruitment?

Stokes is extremely selfish and self-centered. It's on full display. Of course he would do something like that to put himself in the spotlight. With the next coach, whenever that is, I want them getting everything and making kids sign papers before ever stepping foot on campus. Sage the money for players who want to be part of something special.
I hope they ignore your advice or we will be worse off than we are now.

People often come to visit to see if they want to sign. That doesn't mean we have to be clueless suckers that can't read the room.

Mitch Barnhart. He has hired THREE basketball coaches for UK. John Calipari, Billy Gillispie, and Mark Pope.
I distinctly remember many on here stating that the boosters pulled rank on Barnhart to hire Calipari more or less. So im not sure he would have hired Cal without his wrist being bent. It's a good thing Joel Osteen doesn't coach basketball or he would have been handpicked by Barnhart. In place of Cal.

Your source is “many on here?” Solid.

And bringing religion into this kind of shows your bigotry. Congrats.

He’s a little right. Mike Pratt made it happen. With a small contingent. I don’t care what Eli said, or what Mitch said. He wouldn’t have hired Cal without being told to move over and let it happen. Heard it right from Mikes mouth.

Buddy, you sure are inferring a lot. I'm a Christian. Matter of fact, I watch Osteen often. The distinction is if I'm running a university's at
hletic department, i have enough sense to hire the best person for the job. And not blacklist people because they don't meet MY moral standards. That's totally unprofessional and the definition of bigotry.
As far as the rest, multiple people on here made that claim back when he was hired. I'd might not pay attention to it if just one was claiming it. And considering Barnharts clear distain for certain coaches, it seems to track.
Don't care if you like it or not, Barnhart sycophant.

I've heard it said before that if you don't know who the mark is at the poker table, then you're the mark. We have an actual Mark and he is the literal mark at every poker table he sits down at. This is 100% on Barnhart. Not doing his due diligence again, just like he didn't do his due diligence on Billy Gillespie.

so Pope goes from being the most accessible, inviting the media to attend practice and bring family, to cutting them all off (if true)

Pope told the world to criticize him if he deserved it.

so what has happened here? I don't think it’s Pope being thin skinned.
Narrator: He was, in fact, thin skinned.

Since you're on your third account, what advice would you give them? I will tell you that respectfully letting someone know that if they have signed elsewhere you're no interested is just plain good business sense.

He didn't know crap. Otherwise he would have said so beforehand.

Without a doubt. And even worse, he allegedly wanted to ‘warn’ our coach about info that is shaky enough not to post or even hint at? Yeah right.

Also to then post about it AFTER the fact like some kind of honorable insider just to make us look bad?

Seems confirmation bias is playing a huge role here. Let’s ignore the statements we don’t like and give great credibility to those we do. Done. Great way to get at the truth.

A professed Christian cannot be a bigot? Watching Joel Osteen gives you more credibility?

As a Christian, you don’t care about the moral character of those people you would hire because that would be unprofessional? Caring about moral character is the definition of bigotry? 🙄 LOL

I don’t know who Barnhart disdains and I am confident you don’t, either. And, as far as sources, a lot of people on here parrot dumb a$$ things. That does not make them more credible.

As I’ve said for a while, and another poster here knows this as well. Pope isolates himself from the outside. He’s limited booster access and is turning into something that people he needs don’t really care for. It’s been going on since early in his tenure. Pope isn’t doing himself any favors. The guy is the worse coach we’ve ever had bar none and he couples that with tons of off court mistakes. He’s done after this season anyway like some of us have said for a long time. Easiest thing to see since I’ve been a UK fan. Unbelievable how many missed it.

If ya can’t see this guy isn’t UK material, I wouldn’t make many opinions. More listening.
That’s crazy, so the guy preaching loyalty to Kentucky is starting to hide and ban the people who make it up? I bet the boosters are super happy about that! After missing Stokes it’s no wonder we are filling it out with bench guys. They probably won’t fund him getting anyone who will make a difference now.

There is no way that all of this was kept secret, but everyone apparently knew beforehand.
I bet they did know. Polacheck probably can’t come out and say it because he needs access to the team. Someone knew at Kansas and I bet it came out, they took Stokes visit way after he signed. That tells me he probably did not listen to anyone like he has been. It’s been said before on here. Makes sense. Another thing is Jacob couldn’t make it public and burn his source, he may never get information again. He could privately let it be known that Kentucky was getting played, while at the same time not publicly burning his bridge. It’s easy now as the information is known to all because he’s committed.

Everyone thinking that when we had Billy G that the train was off the track for a long while..... Sounding like the train has been off the track with Pope for quite some time too... Really sucks we have to suffer through year 3 with this clown.
That’s probably why the guys who left were kinda saying what a clown show it was. They were kinda making it obvious. I wouldn’t be surprised later on that as much as Jasper’s uncle seems like a dbag right now that there is something to the reason he’s saying it.

I find that farfetched. They release far less credible stuff every day.
I think there’s something off about that whole deal. From screenshots I’ve seen KSBoard seems to have rumors posted on there all the time, including by KSR staff. My guess is he anticipated a backlash to putting that info out and opted to save himself the trouble. Then probably didn’t anticipate how much backlash he would get for reporting that after the Kansas commitment was made public.

No, he did not get it confirmed until the day of commitment per himself. Yes he tried to pass it on as a possibility but not confirmed.

LOL. Again, this reminds me of the time Matt Jones said multiple SEC coaches messaged him and told him and told him he should be a little worried about JMI. If KSR fails Matt Jones will be able to be able to sell you air.
