What is that big eared wiener doing over here addressing congress? Doesn't he have enough family issues back home to take care of instead of trying to advise our Congressional opportunists on how to take care of ours?

Bless her and her underbite.

Say whatever you want about her politics and her stature as a Senator, but, she's not all hat and no cattle. She walks the walk. If you're not paying attention, you miss the subtle clues. Go back and look at who she sat by. And ask yourself, why is she sitting next to a guy who is in for one of the toughest election fights of his life? Here's why: Cornyn knows who has his six. Through her personable affect, her aw shucks style, her hard-nosed stands that never get outrageous or personal, and her trustworthiness as a confidant who is also street smart, she has quietly earned her way into out-sized influence. And it is paying off for Mississippi. Her influence and her little black book of who owes her favors continues to grow.

Keep deluding yourself: she's the most useless politician in DC, and Cornyn just needs to go. Since you clearly didn't heed the warning in the speech: a legislature has the responsibility to hold the executive in check. These two have failed to do that and have thus torn the fabric of trust required by the people for holding such a position. I hope they both lose their elections.

The Supreme Court just dropped the hammer on Bennie. Reeves is fixing to call a special session to redraw congressional map. It's 100 or so page ruling so we will see the nitty gritty.

Once had an old man tell this at the coffee shop. He was on an English troop transport to Europe in WW2. It was meal time and the boys were eating. A voice come on the intercom and says “Hats off in the Queens dining room”. He said all at one a 1000 American voices rang out “17 the Queen!” And I think the same today with regard to Charles

Disgusting ruling; unsurprising from this illegitimate Court.
I don't think it necessary means there will not be a Democrat Congressman in the 2nd, but it will be a more Conservative Democrat. They will probably put all of Madison County into that district, but it still will have a lot of blacks who usually vote Democrats keeping it close.

I appreciate the King's humor, and respect for America......that said, he seems to know more about democracy than many people seated in congress yesterday, and as far as checks and balances......everything our president does seems to be taken to court, and he wins more often than not, and he has not done anything other presidents have not done......so, with that said, I still contend the single most dangerous thing our democracy / republic faces, is our Congress (they hold the purse strings, per them, see fraud to NGO's)......frankly, I hope there were many people yesterday that have refused to stand in the past getting their civics lesson.

and to add.....if we do not take care of America first, how can we take care of the rest of the world. common sense order

oh, and the king talking about rule of law and order.....just sayin'

Let me say this, she helped me more than anyone can understand. My brother died last January and I’ve been trying to deal with his 36 yr old autistic son and getting him back on social security. They kicked him off bc he had $1700 worth of savings bonds. We went 8 months with nothing but trouble from SS admin. I emailed Cindy’s office. 2 days later he was back on SS and they back paid him $36k. Was absolutely amazing. Congressional help is there if you ask for it. This is just a brief summery of the nightmare it’s been

The most dangerous thing in our system is any of the three branches not taking seriously its duty to help hold the other two in check. That is what our system was designed to do. James Madison trusted no one in power.

Good post Mr. Hyde Smith*****

In all seriousness, I’ve met her a few times and have never been impressed with her as she always seems not very intelligent. But I’ve also never been one on one with her. My interactions have always been in small groups.

Some elected officials really do make a huge effort on the constituent services side. Regardless of whether I’d vote for the Senator, I’m very glad to hear she’s doing right by folks in that regard.
There are too many - Democratic and GOP - who half-asss it or worse in this regard.
