It's another team full of 6th men who will be starters.

I don't see how they will be any better than last year's team.
It’s a team that will rely on multiple experienced players that have not had success in a power conference. No one that has had a key role on a successful P5 team. That’s a major roll of the dice.

Indiana tried that last year with a bunch of mid major all stars and it was a mediocre result.

To my view, Moreno might be the weakest starter.
That might end up being a decent line-up.
It is the bench depth that really concerns me.
Staff brought McBride in on the notion he is first off the bench not a starter. Just wanted to clarify that, when he originally was on campus he was being pitched as the starter, that ain’t the case anymore. Now after summer of practices who knows who wins that spot but he isn’t expecting it.

This appears to be a team that absolutely will not be able to withstand an injury to any of the starters. If everyone stays healthy and jells, I think the team can be better than last year. But still a mid level SEC team unless the team shooting is tremendously better.

Exactly what happened - McBride had an offer on the table since his visit - He knew Ky were going to start shoppIng again & the clock was ticking.
When Ky shops he should know that he can wait as long as he wants. They haven’t been able to make a halfway decent sell yet.

It's crazy to think we got a commitment from this guy and I barely even noticed. Literally don't know anything about him.

Unless Pope can add another scoring 2, another center, and another good shooting wing, it's gonna be tough. There is a chance that we have a better team than last season because we do have a point guard and a backup. We've got 2 players at the 4 who can make the 3. We need a shot blocker and some more shooters. Wilkins will be able to score in this offense if we run clean sets. He's going to get some shots.

I think Stokes let them kniw ot was Kansas and this was their way of saying FU and moving on.
There are still guys that we are in on that could set us up well for next season I actually like most of the moves we have made. We need a big time scorer/shooter. We have tge money, go get it done. Every program in the country wanted Stokes, final three teams or not, tgere were a hundred other schools that "whiffed" on Stokes as well
Bro I like you but cmon, you don't say F U to Stokes with Sun Belt McBride. If anything, that makes Stokes and Self laugh harder.

I know, that may be the worst timing of a commitment I have ever seen. It just shows how far out of his league Pope is. This kid played him for a month and visited after he was already signed at Kansas. I don’t know if I have ever witnessed that before or heard about that. Maybe a soft verbal or something but actually contractually signed.

Even if this group of rag-tags can start games well, we all know what happens when the starters are taken out by the refs......our depth is questionable at best.

15 wins will be generous unless we get a couple more ACTUAL starters.

In my opinion we have money to add 1 stud (maybe 2 but i don't know what's left money wise)...there will be an addition of at least 1 stud whether its overseas OR hopefully a guy coming out of the draft. 1 stud will take that Stokes money. Hopefully 2.

In the end, Stokes would have been great but if you can add a top 35-65 NBA prospect, he's as good as a get as Stokes, probably better with experience and maturity.

Right now, I see quality depth as a major concern, too.

Lousy timing by UK on the announcement. Rumors were already online that he had committed, just had to complete the paperwork allegedly. So folks didn't really have time to really welcome the young man when all the attention was on Stokes.

What kind of "welcome" were you expecting "folks" to give him? I mean ticker tape parade? What?
