In 5 years here (2011-2015) he matched the Final Four and Championship total of Arkansas's entire school history.
Those will be the last ones he gets. He's almost 70. He will be retiring soon anyway

Cal always adjust how he plays to the players on the team. It takes a while each season with all new guys.
Back when he coached at UMass and Memphis and had a group for 3-4 years they were very disciplined on the court.

In the least, he's bringing excitement and potential there - nothing to brag about. In the two years, he's gotten Ark to two S16's, while Pope is 1 S16 and 1 round of 32.
Watch his offense, 2 plays. He is a recruiter, he has most of his wins by out recruiting everyone, his in game coaching sucks, no adjustments.

A lot of teams have a chance to make a final four run. not a lot of teams have a chance to win a title.
It’s usually 3-5 teams by the time the tournament starts. Arkansas won’t be one of them. Cal will never coach one of those teams again.
Cal had the number 1 class here 15 times and didn’t do diddly with it after 2019. Congrats!
