I'm asking in a serious way. Why is all of this our fault? And then everyone says nobody reads rafters so which is it?
Popes making himself look bad. And to be honest this is the worst I've seen Kentucky basketball since I came out of my mom's cooch. Are we supposed to be supportive?
Agreed, im far from the sky is falling like most here. I still believe we sign one more starter and 2 rotation pieces. We will have a better record than this years team. We likely won’t be a legit contender unless we hit home runs here on out but we will be able to compete with anyone.
The SEC loaded up. Florida is stacked and looks like Tenn will be adding Harris so can't see us even winning the SEC.

Not many teams in the country could win the SEC this coming season. Florida will be the clear cut number 1 IMO and Michigan a clear 2nd. I still believe we will finish better than the last year and have a much higher ceiling.
Pope played here and the name calling of him is embarrassing. We shouldn’t treat our own who played here like that.
Anyone with half a brain that sees how we are treating Pope wouldn’t want to come here. If I’m a recruit and see how we are treating a guy who won a national championship at his flagship university, how would you treat me?

I know what looks worse, a blue blood coaching staff that hasn't landed a lottery pick in 3 years.

I didn’t want to believe Pope was 100% of the problem but Pope is 100% of the problem. Just an all systems failure.

If Mark Pope were a general it’d probably serve the French army best to surrender. Save a lot of lives before the inevitable.
Give it a rest. Matt Doherty won a title at UNC. Hubert Davis coached UNC to the title game after playing for UNC. Woodson had a solid career at IU. Howard at Michigan. They all underperformed and were heavily criticized similar to Pope.
Being a former player doesn’t give you a pass.
I do agree that his religion is off limits and has nothing to do with his coaching but the rest of his goofy *** is fair game.

Worrying about our fanbase right now is like walking into work naked and being worried your hair is a bit messy. I think there is a bigger issue at hand.
We need to be like Louisville and cut ties when the previous player isnt getting the job done.
You expect him to give up an approximate $4M salary? If he has another bad season I expect he’ll negotiate a settlement and leave.
And you really expect Pope to land any of those decent options?
And of course it’s the fans fault that the head coach puts an inferior product on the floor and can’t recruit to save his life.

He’s a smart man. He had to know that this wasn’t working out, that he was in over his head. He can’t be that oblivious. He should’ve resigned but ego and greed took presidence.
He deserves all the hate and ire the fanbase throws at him for not giving up when he bad the chance. It’s too late now and he’ll never be known for being a former player here. He’ll be known by fans as making us a national laughing stock.
He should have never been put in this position. He’s in way over his head.

By any real measure, Pope should've been fired after playing on Wednesday in Nashville and getting blown out in the round of 32 by a team without their best player.
To follow up, he sunk everything he wanted in a kid that was never coming here. Stokes had every chance to commit for months but never did. Notice Kelsey moved on and out together a HAUL while our lovable fool waited in hopes of landing the long shot.
Hes in way over his head because if an incompetent Mitch. He has no business being here but how could he say no, especially to such a rich contract?
