Been fully prepared it would ultimately be ku for months now (although Pope has not been). Only hope is that Stokes bucks the trend of the experts. Seems to be the kind of kid that zigs when others think he is going to zag.

Jamie Shaw's "prediction" is 60-40 and Branham hasn't made a prediction as of 3 p.m. He just tweeted a few minutes ago to confirm that.

I've already mentally prepared myself that it's Kansas but not because of the "experts." Just feels like Pope screwed it up somehow.

I personally think we have been blessed and lucky the past 15 years getting used to landing 85% of the recruits we were after. That has officially worn off with the new regime. It's hard to let go of the hope. lol. Small part thinks it's still a possiblity.

The reality is he's going to Kansas. Has been for awhile. Used UK to get more $$ from Kansas. What stings is we might have offered the biggest bag from a Nike school and he chooses an Adidas school. Times have changed and it only get's different from this point forward.

Real talk…if he does pick Kansas then I’m not sure how pope can convince anyone that this season has any chance at being successful.
Agreed...

PG...very good with Zoom...but he's no NBA guys
SG....solid but young with Wilkins...and he's making a jump to higher level...so there will be an adjustment curve
SF.....Kam....he's a solid piece...but he's better served off bench vs. starting...which is where Stokes would take a spot and Kam would be depth
PF....intriguing but a very raw N'Dyia.....he looks thin, plays around 3pt line. I think he'll give rim protection and stretch the floor....but he's goign to struggle with physicality.
C....Moreno. Good C. But he's got to take a leap to be the star Center this frontline will need. And I see him as more of a Dakari Johnson impact in 2027.....not a KAT/Cousins impact we need

No bench to speak of as of today.

If Pope whiffs on Stokes....he'll throw some money at forward and maybe a guard. But that lineup ain't going to be dominate unless N'Dyia is the Giannis-ish....which he will not be.

No surprise here. It would be more surprising if Pope could actually land him. Pope was a lazy hire by Barnhart. I used to watch every game religiously; I have not watched a full regular season game in 2 years. Barny let the program slip way to much under Cal and then compounded that with the Pope hire. The next AD has a real task on their hands to make the right hire in about 9 months., hopefully they are already reaching out.

That would be the ultimate middle finger to Nike. A company who I’m sure has given a lot of money to this kid. If nothing else, it should change the way contracts are drawn up.
NIKE is not worried about a HS kid playing for Kansas.
Nike has most of the major Pro leagues of the WORLD under contract.
Stokes is a flea on an elephants a$$ to NIKE.

"Every" expert. The article referenced names one grifter who logged a prediction for KU after the announcement to announce.

Okay. Would be more of a surprise if he did choose UK. Not expecting anything at all so I won’t be disappointed

According to the expert picks, Stokes picking Kentucky would be the equivalent of Trump winning over Clinton.

I like Kentucky's chances, considering everything

This reminds me of the Julius Randle recruitment where everyone thought he was going to Kansas and then he committed to Kentucky.
He's still a Kentucky kid. He knows what it means to play here. Plus it's hard to beat the benefit of staying close to home so your friends and family can come watch you play.
