When was the last time a national TV announcement went UK's way? Pre-2020 Cal Era?

My guess is Kansas. They've been the team making moves and clearing room for him.

If Nike is a make or break factor, then my guess is Oregon. A poster mentioned they've already been ruled out, but the only thing for certain about the recruitment of Stokes is that nothing is for certain. He would get to stay out west and be the one man show while making the boss happy.

UK would be the most surprising IMO, which is sad to say given how he was the one high schooler we went all in on. I hope that Pope proves me wrong on this one and that putting all his eggs in the Stokes basket turns out to be a brilliant move.

May be overthinking it but him pushing the time back to 6:30 instead of 3:30 makes me think Kansas due to the time zone. Hope I’m wrong

Good God, he switched it to be on the NBA pre game show with Charles, Shaq, and Kenny

Actually he didn't even change it. It was always 6:30 on Inside the NBA. 3:30 was just a miscommunication with his people and Matt Norlander. Goodman said he was told 6:30 from the start.

It's like playing the lottery, you know the odds are stacked against you but it's that slight glimmer of hope that draws you in.

My only reason for thinking UK has a chance is that Stokes seems to be a little odd with his recruitment. Maybe that helps our chances in some way.

Probably KU, but it would not at all shock me if it's UL, Arky or even St. John's. This kid seems to be the type that would do something like this.
I do not have the time or energy to deal with drama queens, and Stokes is both.

Tyran Stokes will shock the world and pick BYU, mainly just to twist the knife into Pope's back (and maybe a little into Self's back too, but mainly Pope's).

You heard it here first.

Pope needs to keep recruiting international players. They do not know how incompetent he is at his job so they would be easier to recruit for him.
I had this exact thought the other day. Plus it isn’t feasible to visit campuses so much less opportunity to look like a fool.

For the sake of the team I hope he goes someplace else. Nothing good will come from the 10 million dollar man but disappoint. This team needs team members that make a team not Stokes.

I tend to think it’s UK. That visit was odd, it’s almost like he was there tying up loose ends. Either that or UK paid him to come all the way from Portland to Lexington just to go out to eat and shoot at Rupp. If he was going to Kansas all along, why would he come to Lexington.

Kentucky. It’s where he’s from and has relatives here. He, they and his Mom know the great long term impact playing at UK will give Tyran.
He wants to be part of the UK family and in that select UK NBA circle.

Mo is in Atlanta?
Probably just coincidence. Mo was there seeing/offering Chase Lumpkin. I believe KSR has an article on it. He's a Georgia kid from near Atlanta, so if if Mo was there making an offer today, it tracks as to why he is in Atlanta. Could be completely unrelated to Stokes.

If Stokes goes to KU, please tell me that UK puts out a Morton Boom after, that would be so poetic.
I would laugh tears of anguish if we get a pre boom right before Stokes, then Stokes commits to KU and minutes later we see a Matt Jones post excitedly announcing Morton's commitment.

They may be willing to do it as long as he signs some agreement to return to Nike long-term in the NBA. That's where the money really is - merch in the NBA.
He’s already signed with NIKE longterm On an individual basis.Word around the Nike Campus in Portland when he was there for the Summit leaked that he wants to help design his signature shoes & apparel. Wherever he goes , it will be for 9 1/2 months & then off to play for the Wizards - Jazz or Kings.
BTW all NBA teams are NIKE sponsored thru 2037.

I think he will pick Kentucky. But in saying that, this board should absolutely not melt down if he picks someone else. I actually think it’s better if we don’t get him and use a good amount of money on a couple other good players.

I don't care where he goes and hate this diva recruitment nonsense. The TV segment is gonna be mega cringe. If Pope was a boss, he'd storm onto the set right as he was about to choose and say "You can't pick Kentucky -- you're fired" as Yessoufou and Momcilovic drop out of the rafters wearing NWO Wolfpack shirts and hit Stokes with a double flying elbow drop.

Duke, UConn, Alabama, Michigan, Illinois, Houston, Florida, Michigan State, Arkansas, Louisville / all of these school tapped out + didn't recruit with much effort. Why is that?
