Don’t ruin it for him. That’s because they have no rating for Duarte and Sydnor isn’t even in their player database.

duarte doesnt deserve a ranking imo
Be open to being surprised. Will be a decent 3 pt shooter. Doesn't shy away from contact. Better finisher than Mark or Davis. They play a pretty high level of ball in the DR. (KAT is on the national team.) I think defense will be a problem but he has that in common with his teammates. At least Duarte will grab his share of long rebounds.on3 is also missing ratings for players around the country as well

He's no kid at age 23. Can Pikes coach someone like that? Duarte is going to have to learn how to play a very different kind of game in short order and be able to run part of the show.
I admit a lot of my opinion is based on this tape Lewis Duarte .lol what?
He played in the LNB—that’s nowhere near Big Ten level, and KAT has nothing to do with that league.
Calling him better than guys who’ve already already played here is foolish
Based on the video above, it looks like middle schoolersAgainst what competition
If here were a proven talent, he wouldn't be coming to RU. Keep in mind that this is a single game tape, not a highlight reel. I liked what I saw taking into account that it appears to be an NDL (No Defense League). Yes that is a slow release on tres but it is also a high release so I can live with slow up there. Showed some toughness. Showed some spirit. He drives right at the rim and keeps the ball down a tic. He gets his hand over on dunks. He's been coached. Not the best motor but he keeps busy. I liked what I saw. If a high school kid had a tape like this everyone would be drooling.

What the heck is wrong with that kid shooting 3s and layups?Even if it was against elite competition - he made a bunch of 3s on one given day and that tells you he’s a great shooter? I watch a ton of AAU basketball and I can tell you with certainty anyone can get hot and hit a streak of outside shots. Means nothing. His other baskets were transition lay ups. Not sure what you might take away from the film one way or the other.
I didn’t say anything is “wrong”. Did you not read my post? He was totally unguarded in all but like one or two shots on that 5 minute video. Tells us nothing about his play making ability, nor does it mean he’s a lights out statistical shooter because on one particular day he hit a bunch of outside shots. It gives us no information about his ability to play at the D1 level - especially considering it’s film from 4 years ago or more. What the heck is wrong with that kid shooting 3s and layups?
Crawl back into your rat hole and go back to the SHU board where you are well respected as a negatoid like those( one) you support here. Birds of a feather stick together-- sorry birds, you're better than that. The above post is a classic example of derangement syndrome.

Duarte is a great lottery ticket. He clearly is talented, has length, can score, plays hard and an older guy. He could see good minutes or never touch the court. In this NIL age, that’s the type of player you want deep on the roster. High potential long shot. I would give him a better than 50% chance of playing and contributing.Yes. I saw this one too but I didn't think the avg fan would watch an hour vid with terrible announcers. For context OTE's Amen Thompson went 4th and Ausar Thompson went 5th in 2023 NBA draft.
Yes, defense for the whole game is terrible but check it out: Duarte is playing more D than anyone else and goes after rebounds harder than anyone else. Relative to the other guys on the court, he plays harder. That goes a long way for me. Like Mike Vick, I like dogs that have fight in them.
Your SHU board mates would all give one of their nuts to have landed Sydnor and are pissed we got him. Go away, you don't belong here. The above post is a classic example of derangement syndrome.

Higher than 50% is not a lottery ticketDuarte is a great lottery ticket. He clearly is talented, has length, can score, plays hard and an older guy. He is a long shot. I like his game and giving him a good chance at contributing (+50%). That why I think he is a great addition. I could be wrong. If he doesn’t contribute, it’s not much of a loss.Higher than 50% is not a lottery ticket
if there’s a 50/50 shot he’s a productive high major player it’s more of a recruiting steal than a lottery ticket that you’re hoping you got lucky with
50% chance he plays but I wouldn’t say 50% chance he’s a productive high major player … at least not this year. I suspect he might need a year to adjust to college game and speed similarly to someone like Zrno who you saw more flashes from late in season and clearly with the interest he’s getting in portal showed enough he will help the next teams he’s with more than this team
This is a fair point and should be considered when former high school standouts don’t do well at their first school or sit on the bench. High school competition is nothing like college competition. Sometimes the reason they don’t play is simply because they aren’t good even though they were highly rated in high school. Teams take a risk if the haven’t shown they can play at a given level, but the jump from a non power conference to the Big Ten is not as much as the jump from high school to the Big Ten.Against what competition
Lottery ticket is fair. He’s a long shot to turn out to be a big time stud. I assume the 50% chance referred to means chance he can contribute even modestly in non-garbage time situations (Oskar or Austin Williams level).Higher than 50% is not a lottery ticket

Oh well, there goes that…..we dropped back to #57 in On3 transfer portal team rankings.
Michigan is 47th and Duke is 63rd. I guess they are in big trouble. (sarcasm) These rankings are meaningless. We signed relatively weak players before most of the top players even signed and there are still a lot of very good players out there. We will drop quite a bit further., which is why that early rating was so silly.
The rankings directionally are likely pretty accurate. Early on we signed three good players including a center and power forward who should be significant improvements over who we had. Gurdak and Sydnor seem like obvious improvements over Ogbole and Grant. Smith should be a very good offensive player while it’s unclear why Duarte was rated so high. It was a very good start and compliments the players we kept.We signed relatively weak players before most of the top players even signed and there are still a lot of very good players out there. But they were meaningful to many here when rutgers was top 20Michigan is 47th and Duke is 63rd. I guess they are in big trouble. (sarcasm) These rankings are meaningless.
I never said it was as meaningful. I got a chuckle out of you taking shots at any positive Rutgers news… Duke is 63 and Michigan is 47. It’s meaningless. But they were meaningful to many here when rutgers was top 20
Our talent level is far behind most of the big 10
13th in big 10
And if on3 actually used a real ranking system that compared schools we probably are near bottom of all power 5

That ranking is compared to themselves last year not RutgersI never said it was as meaningful. I got a chuckle out of you taking shots at any positive Rutgers news… Duke is 63 and Michigan is 47. It’s meaningless.
The positives of your posts are that it is obvious you spend lots of times finding relevant stats when discussing threads. The negatives are that you always find a way to spin it to show you are smarter than the current coach - and he/she should be fired immediately. It has been that way for the 30 years these sites have been available. lolThat ranking is compared to themselves last year not Rutgers
Yeah, it’s beyond meaningless. i get what they are trying to do but it doesn’t work. Rutgers gets negatively penalized in the rank/score for Baye Fall and Badalau. Does that make any real sense? Those guys leaving should add to Rutgers score, lol. That ranking is compared to themselves last year not Rutgers
Its a ranking which isnt even positive at all for RutgersThe positives of your posts are that it is obvious you spend lots of times finding relevant stats when discussing threads.
