In Japanese momo means peach. It can refer to the tree or the fruit. Per my daughter who lived there and taught English for a while.
Now do the etymology of 'Popescrewcut' . English +History=double fun

There’s no guarantee he will be anywhere near as good as Freeman or even Rancik. He’s an unknown commodity. He could be good or he could be a project. I’m not confident if he starts.
His potential upside far outweighs either. Freeman is very one dimensional, Rancik is what he is. Ndiaye at worst case will be able to handle the ball and play defense, he has potential to have a very good offensive attack as well but that's the question mark currently. He is well worth the risk at this point. Very little downside and potentially huge upside. Give me him 10/10 times if those are my 3 options. He has been playing pro ball for several years and moving up to better leagues each year.

2 million year one and 2.3 second year option with a small buyout. So just over 2 million a year. Almost half what SJ paid for freeman. It was a bargain.

Put it this way OSU paid almost as much for Jelavic and LSU paid more for MoD. We win in every situation with what we did.
Please post your source.

I have yet to see even one confirmed case where any college team has signed a player for more than one year.

My source is my network, but you can google and see a few others saying the same. Some of our players on last years roster were on 2 year deals and left anyway. Just because it isn't public knowledge doesn't mean it isn't happening. Most of what you'd call a source has wrong information that circulates all over the internet and people believe it without facts.

It was a joke. All these numbers are completely made up since anyone can lie about the amounts and everyone involved has an incentive to exaggerate upwards, including fans of other teams to make fun of our offers.

Here is a deep look at his 2025-26 season highlights. It gives you a solid idea of his game and stroke. He would DEFINITELY be nice to have !!
He reminds me of a taller version of Jeff Hornacek, who also played for Iowa State, oddly enough !! He seems a perfect fit for Pope's style ... Go get him !!

Should be an open shut recruitment… Miss on Stokes, simply offer Momcilovic “Stokes money”, right? I mean, it’s going to be just sitting there collecting dust, right?
Hell, brother, I’d just offer him the Stokes money now! **** it! He’s not a flashy player like Stokes, but he would contribute just as much IMHO. Plus, he’s another stretch 4!

EDIT: someone above said he’s a 3. Maybe he is, idk. Looks like a 4 to me. Hybrid forward IMO. Can play either spot.

You've got to be Lee Ann Pope. No other explanation. You were all over Donnie Freeman's nuts. Pope could get a commit from a one legged midget and you'd be singing his praises. You don't know anything that you're not reading in X like the rest of us. You just admittedly have a talent to dress the verbiage up to make yourself look like a mover and shaker in the CBB world. We smart people have had you pegged from the get go. You're almost never correct and when you're wrong you just move the goalposts. Well done Lee Ann P. You have fooled some of these yokels

I'm sorry, I didn't catch the nuance. So many crazy numbers fly through here, it's hard to tell what people actually believe.

And he’s elite around the bucket. He would contribute as much as Stokes IMHO. Especially considering how deadly of a shooter he is.
I was impressed by how productive he was only shooting 11.1 times a game, albeit 7.5 were threes. He will certainly draw attention on the court.

This is the guy I wanted more than anyone. Doubt we have a chance, but it would completely change my mind about next season.

I would like to have your optimism regarding Ndiaye. Has a similar Euro player came from the Italian league, or a similar league even, in the last couple years and had a better year than what Freeman and Rancik just put up?

Tubelis? Ballo? Kharchenkov? Veesaar? Krivas? Sabonis?

Dame Sarr and Jakucionis came from the Spanish league, Liga ACB, with Jakucionis having a great year at Illinois and Sarr being rather mediocre.

It would be nice, but no way we can afford them both nor has Pope proven he could land either one, let alone both of them.
I don't know that we can't afford them both. We can't have broken the bank on the cast of characters we have now. From everything I have read, Nike is carrying most of tgmhe financial water for Stokes. We are still recruiting for 4-5 more roster spots...give all the money allocated for those players to Momcilovic and sign non paid scholarship athletes to fill out the bench. If we had Diallo, Wilkins, Momcilovic, Stokes, Moreno, N'diaya and Kam....you can win playing those seven all but garbage minutes

I like N'Diaye quite a lot. Do you think it possible that Momcilovic could be a stretch 3 and N'diaye a stretch 4 on the court at the same time ??

Junior Bridgeman's estate gave a substantial sum to U6 so that's where some of their money is coming from.
Interesting and useful info ... makes good sense !! Thanks for that !! Bridgeman always struck me as a CLASS ACT !!

Momcilovic has only played the 3 at Iowa St. He's 6'8, 220 lbs so he could play the 4 I guess, but Ndiaye is 6'11 and 210-215 lbs.

Thanks for that. If Momci is a three ... he's clearly a great piece to have ... GO GET HIM !!
YES ... I get you ... physicality with N'Diaye will something he will need to work on. He can overcome it, to an extent, by being savvy ... I hope he is.

Nico Mannion is a prime example, averaged 7.3 points, 2.9 assists and 1.4 rebounds a game in the Italian League. When he went to Arizona and Averaged 14 points, 5.3 assists and 2.5 rebounds his season in Arizona and played a seaon with GSW. The league Ndiaye is in is very comparable to the SEC and he will average at worse similar numbers and most likely better by a wide margin IMO. You must remember NIL opened a new door we have only witnessed for roughly 2 years where NBA level guys take this path to the league. Most the players from a league as good as Ndiaye plays in never came to college and went straight to the NBA or stayed in Europe and played. The majority of Euros who came to college before the past 2 seasons came from a much lower level of competition. People are sleeping on his potential, he will be much better than Rancik and more often than not Freeman as well. Potential is there to be a star but time will tell. Above average is the worst case in this situation.

It's good to not have a schtick, isn't it? Just to be unpredictable.
