Like the mantra.

I am pretty much over trying to have a sane reasonable discussion with a very specific group on this site as I prefer staying off name calling and promoting violence against your political rivals.

Free speech is critical to a free democracy but I find myself disappointed with the lack of civility and accountability along with a lack of visionary viewpoints looking beyond the paint on the surface.

Just found myself really disappointed with the tone of many people with the assassination attempt.

When will people find Jesus is what I muse every night while trying to fall asleep

By the way

In my opinion I love the vision and policies and actions of President Donald Trump

He’s not perfect but he is really good when compared to the options.

I've had a number of exchanges today that would support your assertion of "all hate, no debate."

Truth is that many in that camp have been jaded for over an entire decade. They cannot help themselves. Their hate is impulsive. It's become natural. Part of their every day lives............

So sad.

I posted something similar a while ago...obviously to deaf ears. A board like this is a great place to share ideas, debate "facts" and, hopefully, educate everyone on alternate points of view.

But, to be fair, supporters of both points of view seem to fall back on name calling and direct insults.

You'd think intelligent, educated people could do better..

Here I am this morning reading about Ben Stiller was at a Knicks game tweeting about the game and right before the assassination attempt tweeted GOT IT DONE which immediately triggered an outcry against Ben Stiller with many on line folks claiming he was supporting the violence

Let’s be real. The comment was about a basketball game.

Folks need to take a moment before jumping from level calm and reasonable to crazy and manic.

I personally ask myself about how can someone thrive in politics and be a leader when there is so much rancor and now with the internet so much. Public hate being projected.

Just being on this site has me rethinking what I say. Even in joking as everyone. But a few seem to want to have constant chaos

I would make a suggestion regarding more of what I think but I would have. All kinds of of critique from my resident hate on PalmettoTiger1 ideas

I agree with I deserve. Pushback and my ideas are not always the best however name calling and such are not productive

So today I want to issue a group apology to anyone feeling like I have insulted or belittled them

My thoughts are to always focus on safety and security for people with opportunity and meritocracy being my guide

Just the rancor on this site has me really carefully considering what I say before I say it as the world seems so sensitive and polarized

So move on to another day

Still at home recovering from a brutal knee and leg surgery repairing a damaged leg and knee

Enough NETFLEX to last a lifetime

@baltimorened Just to mention a specific point about educated and intelligent people

My wife and I were just commenting the other day about how much better the world would be if focus. By people would be on the positive and not the negative and channel all the hate energy into doing good things like volunteering to help people and programs

Just a comment but left me thinking

as always, I am astounded by the fact that you guys decry the same behavior of anonymous Internet posters that you gleefully celebrate for the president of United States. Personally, I have never come on here and said I was happy that somebody was dead. If I did, you would rip me apart, but it’s OK for the president, cause Maga.

It’s ironic how @PalmettoTiger1 and other MAGA posters hold board members to a higher standard than the President. What leader in modern history has communicated more hate, lies, and conspiracies than Trump?

Where was the MAGA outcry when Trump said the following about Mueller, who had an excellent reputation as a public servant: “Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people.”

This is why normalizing his speech, (as @baltimorened often encourages), is egregious. Trump has multiple times said that the biggest enemy to America are "the Democrats." And there are many on this board/MAGA in general who legitimately believe that, and act accordingly.

UNFORTUNATELY I am not Jesus nor are any of the candidates who run for President meeting that standard.

On the alleged Mueller comment by Trump. First I did not hear it but if true I would prefer it be unsaid.

As to the context in which he said it I would think that Trump has been grossly hounded and persecuted by folks unjustly just as you are doing at the moment

I have said things in the stupidity of the moment I wish had never said

As to Trump I don’t agree with everything he does but I agree with the majority of what he does and I believe he is making America a better place

Now you can disagree with me but I like everything I see except I would be a little less verbally combative however the news and opposition have in my opinion created a severely toxic political environment along with the massive financial fraud put upon middle class Americans like me which I hope Trump stomps and you probably support

So you can call me fascist and Nazi now

Tend to think pressure from inside the house does a lot more than the opposition. Only time Trump seemingly changes his mind about anything is when the pressure builds from the right. As long as his base doesn't hold him accountable for his rhetoric, he won't have any incentive to change. Won't find me voting, donating to, or supporting any of the more fringe and/or disrespectful democrats on the left. I am all for the Dems starting to actually stand up for what they believe and actually do something about it (Schumer/Jeffries seem to only know strongly worded letters), but don't need them to get disrespectful, inflame things like Trump often does. But as long as you can just hand wave at Trump's hateful rhetoric, but come here and say you don't like the words of just rando's on the internet, nothing is going to change. The chiding of rando's on the internet while the leader of your party, who you cheer on in all caps frequently, says as much or worse each and every day is just a bit much man. Hope you feel better soon on the injury recovery.

Holy straw man - your response to my comment is to escalate from the President’s actions and accountability to “None of us are Jesus including the President?” Then you say you’ve also said things in the heat of the moment that you regret? Remember my comment about holding the President to a higher standard?

Have you ever taken a logic or debate class? You’d be laughed out of the room.

I do want to again apologize for an action I took on the site thinking it would be a better way to discuss matters.

I put a good number of you folks on ignore because I felt your rhetoric and musings were mostly wild ranting and screaming about Trump lies , rapes , kills , etc. and is Hitler and Satan and what other evil name you could attach to Trump

The problem with putting you wild crowd on ignore most of the time I miss all the replies that I. Need to hear to help me judge your argument

Saying I need to hear does not mean what you TDS guys say has any value

Just saying it’s better to hear and be aware

Anyway keep talking as that is the only thing that keeps you guys from turning to shooting

The Ideological Roots of Leftist Political Violence

https://www.dailysignal.com/2026/04/27/ideological-roots-leftist-political-violence/

What’s behind the alarming spike in leftist political violence?

In the past two years, President Donald Trump has faced three assassination attempts, with the most recent one arguably coming Saturday night at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Members of his administration have also faced violent threats. Last year saw the assassination of Charlie Kirk, one of Trump’s most prominent supporters, and some on the left have celebrated the assassination of a health care CEO, Brian Thompson.

Just last week, leftist podcaster Hasan Piker suggested in a New York Times interview that Thompson deserved to die because he “was engaging in a tremendous amount of social murder.” Piker argued that “the systematized forms of violence, the structural violence of poverty, the for-profit, paywalled system of health care” justified the assassination.

Also, last year, Virginia elected Jay Jones as attorney general, despite the fact that he previously sent messages fantasizing about shooting Republican former Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates Todd Gilbert. Jones stated at the time that he wished Gilbert’s young children would die in their mother’s arms, and he justified this death wish by saying, “Only when people feel pain personally do they move on policy.” Jones later apologized for the texts after they were made public during his campaign for Virginia attorney general.

Meanwhile, Democrats largely looked the other way while riots in the name of the Black Lives Matter movement took over city streets in the summer of 2020, claiming the lives of at least 27. Many of them demonized Supreme Court justices who had voted to overturn Roe v. Wade, even as pro-abortion activists stalked these justices and tried to assassinate Brett Kavanaugh.

Progressivism and Political Violence

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas explained it well when he contrasted the vision of Progressivism with the principles of the Declaration of Independence earlier this month.

“Progressivism was the first mainstream American political movement—with the possible exception of the pro-slavery reactionaries on the eve of the Civil War—to openly oppose the principles of the Declaration,” Thomas said. “Progressives strove to undo the Declaration’s commitment to equality and natural rights, both of which they denied were self-evident.”

Under Progressivism, “liberty no longer preceded the government as a gift from God but was to be enjoyed at the grace of the government.”

Thomas noted that President Woodrow “Wilson and the progressives candidly admitted that they took it from Otto von Bismarck’s Germany, whose state-centric society they admired. Progressives like Wilson argued that America need to leave behind the principles of the founding and catch up with the more advanced and sophisticated system of relatively unimpeded state power.”

Vice President JD Vance's approval rating has fallen sharply, hitting what CNN data analyst Harry Enten says is the lowest point for any vice president at this stage in office.

According to the polling averages the data analyst presented, Vance now ranks last among modern vice presidents when measured at this stage of their tenure.

Enten showed that Vice President Kamala Harris was at minus 13 points at a comparable moment. Mike Pence stood at minus 7, Joe Biden had a net positive of 4 points and Dick Cheney had the significantly higher net approval rating of plus 37.

The data analyst described Vance's standing as "historically the worst" when compared to the other vice presidents.

While he allowed that vice presidents in general appeared to be becoming less popular over time, the trend did not fully explain the depth of Vance's decline.

"JD Vance is not doing too hot to trot at this point," Enten said, noting that the former U.S. senator from Ohio had started his vice presidency in positive territory.

Vance's net approval rating has dropped from plus 3 points to minus 18. "That is a 21-point swing in the wrong direction," Enten said, adding, "Down he goes."

No, you are wrong. What bothers me is that the same people in this thread, lecturing other anonymous posters on a message board about civility, are the same ones who run to this website to gleefully post when Trump shows no civility in his daily actions. They love it when Trump owns the libs. They love it when Trump calls liberals demons or the enemy within. They eat that **** up.
