Still blows my mind that Nike would sign a kid, then allow him to go to an Adidas school.

He was already playing for Duke, though. I think NB was happy to get him and it was I think, in effect after the season, too. I can't see how Nike nor Adidas would want a contractual agreement to end up with all three, the player, Nike and Adidas in court over this. But I could be wrong and it wouldn't be the first or last time it happens. Just makes zero sence to me, though and he's a pawn to either of those companies.
Flagg signed with his HomeState New Balance before going to Duke in 2024. Started doing commercials immediately & was a multimillionaire before taking a penny from Duke.

Ok, so Nike and Adidas had to fend against those few schools. Seems like a fair fight to me.
What I recall reading was specifically that he could do it because there was no complaint from, or no other NB schools as to how it was possible at all.

Can't you see how that works the way it actually DID?

Doesn't matter. This isn't a Duke board and I don't really care. Hence why I didn't want to waste time looking something up that did not and does not apply to the subject at hand, in any way. That was my point!
I was actually agreeing with you.

When is the deadline for him to choose? How long could he actually drag this out?
At this point I don’t think there is a deadline. Kid could wait till March if he wanted too

🤣He's going to end up skipping college and entering the draft. Watch him go overseas for a year.

And how did that affect his status? It didn't and that was my point. Go back and read my original post. It's clear that I didn't care why as much as that it doesn't apply here. So, what's the point in arguing about technicalities? It didn't apply...period! It didn't stop him...period! What difference does it make unless Stokes signs with NB instead of Adidas or Nike? Well, it makes a big difference, as you can see going on before our eyes.

I really don’t know why he doesn’t at this point. He could completely sit this year out and still be a lottery pick for now reason. The only reason he’s going to college is to collect a check. Don’t be surprised if he ends up sitting out the majority of the seasons no matter where he goes

Great question. My understanding is he can make a decision anytime between now and the start of next season.
I hope I'm wrong but that's what I've heard.
You are mostly correct. He has until the deadline to enroll for the fall semester.

Has to be a student in good standing & register in school to practice & use facilities, even in summer. If he goes past May 22 , he’s not going to Kentucky.

Looks like it may happen. You would think in the contract, they would specify the player has to go to a Nike endorsed school. Why pay him money and then watch him go play at Kansas (Stokes)
It makes no sense to me. Hopefully he comes here. If you were Nike, would you not be putting pressure on the kid ?
Yeah. If I'm the Nike rep I'm like look it's for 10 months. Go play for the largest most passionate fanbase and raise your stock even more. Bet on yourself to make this miney look small. If your successful you'll have a loyal fan following throughout your career.
Go Adidas and well you're on your own.

You're an idiot! Read what's been said before you talk about me like a holier than thou pos! As I remembered it, there was a reason why the New Balance deal didn't apply. Isn't that the gist of this? Then another poster correctly stated that New Balance doesn't have any schools, so there was no conflict of interest. So really, he was the only one that brought up the true and correct point why it didn't matter for NB and Super Fagg to have a contract, regardless of the date it was signed nor when it went into effect.

Thank you for wasting a few minutes of my life explaining that you you!
Xanax is your friend. Is it possible you’re having a bad day? He signed the deal on August 26 a few days before beginning enrollment at Duke.
The other poster stated he signed the deal just before his freshman season at Duke. You responded,
That's not how I remember what I read. Perhaps it went into effect after he left. Got a link? Still apples vs oranges comparing a home state New Balance to Adidas or Nike. Different hemispheres. But post a link. Maybe I'm wrong.
You were wrong

As if there aren’t judges just waiting to make a kid eligible no matter what ā€œrulesā€ there are

They aren’t looking at it that way. it’s 6 months of his total career. I do think
Oregon is the best loom for him. Heā€ll dominate in that league and be right on Nikes campus. SEC, he’ll get bullied on a lot of nights.

You do know Oregon is in the Big 10- right? If he can dominate the Big 10 he would be OK in the SEC.

If Nike lets him go to Kansas it’s time for us to think about changing. I read a few weeks ago that LSU had changed to Adidas and immediately 11 football players signed NIL contracts. I didn’t verify this but wouldn’t be surprised. It’s time to shop our name around.

We need to be the first Kangaroo's school. They can put some of that NIL money in the little pocket. 😃
