Still blows my mind that Nike would sign a kid, then allow him to go to an Adidas school.

Looks like it may happen. You would think in the contract, they would specify the player has to go to a Nike endorsed school. Why pay him money and then watch him go play at Kansas (Stokes)
It makes no sense to me. Hopefully he comes here. If you were Nike, would you not be putting pressure on the kid ?

When is the deadline for him to choose? How long could he actually drag this out?

Because it's not going to happen. He was always coming here. Just playing KU like a fiddle. You really think he'd go to an adidas school.

Not really a thing NIL‘s a new deal and they’re not gonna constrict a kid for one year they’re gonna let him go or he wants to go. He just has to wait to start getting that Nike endorsement. I could see him going to Kansas and then fight in like hell to wear Nikes to play in Nikes.

I think colleges have an enrollment deadline for classes, but beyond that, I have no idea.
I believe players have to take summer classes to play on the touring summer team & practice with team at school facilities. At least that’s the way it used to be.
UK summer school starts in mid May & you can register late till May 22.
KU summer school starts June 1
Oregon summer school starts June 16

Unless, it’s been Oregon the whole time!

Consider this… Oregon is the only school/ coach/ fan base, that he has yet to troll during this “recruitment”!

Cooper Flagg signed with New Balance but played for Nike sponsored Duke.
He was already playing for Duke, though. I think NB was happy to get him and it was I think, in effect after the season, too. I can't see how Nike nor Adidas would want a contractual agreement to end up with all three, the player, Nike and Adidas in court over this. But I could be wrong and it wouldn't be the first or last time it happens. Just makes zero sence to me, though and he's a pawn to either of those companies.

Great question. My understanding is he can make a decision anytime between now and the start of next season.
I hope I'm wrong but that's what I've heard.
Idk, but I think he has to be enrolled academically at his school of choice before the academic deadline. That's way earlier than start of basketball season. But still months away

No he signed the deal with New Balance just before his freshman season at Duke

Correct.
Kids sign early to hold a scholarship spot and for NIL.

That's not how I remember what I read. Perhaps it went into effect after he left. Got a link? Still apples vs oranges comparing a home state New Balance to Adidas or Nike. Different hemispheres. But post a link. Maybe I'm wrong.

It's out there if you want to find it

It's amazing that people are still too dmn lazy to look things up for themselves, but want others to do it for them. If they won't take the 30secs to do it, there's no point talking to them. Especially when they're wrong, like this poster was.

Saw a post on FB. He helped a young lady change her tire on New Circle road. When she asked him where he was going he said "I'm a Cat! Lets win 9 for Charlie Kirk!"🥹Gonna love that kid

You're an idiot! Read what's been said before you talk about me like a holier than thou pos! As I remembered it, there was a reason why the New Balance deal didn't apply. Isn't that the gist of this? Then another poster correctly stated that New Balance doesn't have any schools, so there was no conflict of interest. So really, he was the only one that brought up the true and correct point why it didn't matter for NB and Super Fagg to have a contract, regardless of the date it was signed nor when it went into effect.

Thank you for wasting a few minutes of my life explaining that you you!

Cooper Flagg reportedly signed a $13 million Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal with New Balance during his single season at Duke. This partnership established him as a signature athlete for the brand and was part of a total estimated $28 million in NIL earnings during his freshman year.

He wore Nike for Duke games.

The five New Balance schools -Bryant University, Boston College (FBS), Merrimack College, University of Maine, University of Alaska Fairbanks. A bunch of powerhouses.
Ok, so Nike and Adidas had to fend against those few schools. Seems like a fair fight to me.
What I recall reading was specifically that he could do it because there was no complaint from, or no other NB schools as to how it was possible at all.

Can't you see how that works the way it actually DID?

Doesn't matter. This isn't a Duke board and I don't really care. Hence why I didn't want to waste time looking something up that did not and does not apply to the subject at hand, in any way. That was my point!

Flagg was on ads for New Balance even during Duke games .He was only required to sport NIKE GEAR during official Duke functions. He wore NB GEAR otherwise.
Camaron Brink WNBA star from Stanford (a NIKE School) signed with New Balance in college.
