Awful Coaching is a fun channel. It isn’t meant to be anything more than that. Almost any NBA coach has “awful” videos by him. It’s entertainment.
To comment on the thread title -- Easily Wooden. Never won a lick before financial support from Gilbert. Suddenly recruited all star teams by paying them more than the NBA did in an era where nobody else paid basketball players.
Cal is not the greatest X-O coach for sure, but he went to a FF with Marcus Camby and some rec league players.

It’s sad that we cope with how bad we are by pointing out how bad Cal is. Cal is much better than what we have right now.
A lot of gullible people were tricked by him, and I find it funny. Sure, we aren't great, but I'd rather go 0-30 than have that sleazeball as our coach. You could say what's happening to us right now is karma, frankly.

Not true at all. He focuses on the NBA, which is obviously much denser than CBB; it's rare he does a CBB video. Everyone has bad nights in the league, and he does plenty of positive videos too. I'm not saying it's a film session, but there's no need to be defensive over it, either.

Cal seems to always have a title team but it his title team misses that stands out to me.
When you look at the talent he had at UK and only one championship to show for all that talent, not sure I would be bragging.

It's different when everyone is paying players (even if it is under the table). In Wooden's day, Gilbert outpaid everyone, including the pros. Far cry from Anthony Davis getting an alleged 200k, or even Zion / Bagley and that infamous house.
We're talking ONE TEAM paying the college kids NBA salaries (think 10M+) while the rest are paying nothing, maybe like $50k tops
