Yes, it’s Pope’s fault. He’s had every resource at the bluest blue blood university and can’t get top players. We have a mid major roster. If you aren’t embarrassed with what we have become, I can’t help you. We are the University of Kentucky and have a roster equivalent to South Carolina. This is just sad.
The more you defend him, the more we will be stuck in this mediocrity.
Hit Burks hard for our own 1-2 punch. May as well be in a situation where being the higher floor guy gives you a chance instead of being an afterthought AGAIN.
Kid is exciting and talented, but I suspect not a winning type of player, perfect for Cal.

If you expect excellence, and keep the bar high and expect that from your team, you most likely are that way with yourself, and if you constantly make excuses to keep the bar low, and support and defend mediocrity, that’s probably how you feel about and view yourself.
Pope is 0-38 on high school/ International 5*’s, and is about to be 0-39 when Stokes is finished trolling Pope/ BBN. I’m not sure who the other “savior” is, but I can assure you, there’s 20 established coaches ahead of him who are going to get that guy before Pope is even an afterthought.

I wouldn’t categorize this one as a huge whiff, but, it’s still a whiff. Did we not recruit him & try to get back in with him in the last cpl weeks? Regardless of how hard Pope went after him, he still heard Pope’s pitch & passed like so many others. I don’t hate Pope & I actually think he could do well here if he’d recruit players who fit what he wants to do.
But, idk how anyone can deny that he’s not bringing in the level of players we’ve been accustomed to for decades, with the exception of a cpl rough patches in between. He hasn’t proven the ability to land elite HS prospects outside of the state of KY. He’s landed ONE 5* transfer, JQ, & we saw how that went.
He’s just not getting the job done. 6th & 9th place finishes in the SEC aren’t gonna cut it here. I didn’t like the hire, but, I wanted it to work. Still do. But, I’m not holding my breath. If he starts closing on big time players &/or if he wins at an acceptable level, he won’t hear sh*t. But, most UK fans aren’t gonna just sit idly by & learn to enjoy losing 12+ games every year with a S16 ceiling. It just is what it is.

. I for 1 have higher expectations for myself than for anyone else. I also don't put unrealistic expectations on others and keep blaming them for things out of their control or for reasons that I can't prove. Everyone you guys are calling pumpers, childish btw, are just saying Pope deserves a 3rd year based on year 1 results and the fact that year 2 was derailed by injuries. If he gets year 2 results with healthy roster that he assembled in year 3, then all of us pope supporters will agree it's time for him to go. Everyone else needs to step back from the ledge and take a breath. Firing him after year 2 would have been unjustified and would have made most others future options second guess wanting to come here. Stop calling the rest of us mediocre and saying we have low expectations for ourselves. You just come across as an elitist *** when you do that.

North Carolina is the one feeling the sting from this miss. They were supposedly in the drivers seat. This is a painful whiff for the Tar Heels.
Not a winning type of player, but I suspect if he committed to Kentucky you would be saying he was going to lead you to the promise land, and be the number one pick in the draft in 27. He wouldn't give Pope the time of day.
