Under Dave Hay there was strict compliance with the "One Way" mantra... Not sure about these younger coaches that want to be friends with players... Not a good combination in my opinion but...

Not so sure... Many factors will in play. The Rockets will be a year older and have a bad taste in their mouths after losing for the first time in a championship game. Will Montini be just as hungry playing in a lower level, as they were last year. The best team didn't make the championship game in many peeps minds so... Let the season play out and see when the dust settles...
A school like Chatham and a running game could own the CS8. Just look North at Prairie Ridge and Cary Grove...
Unless Izzy gets hurt, Broncos are the clear clear clear favorites in 4A. They would be the clear favorites in 5A, IMO though PC is going to be very good.
Will Montini not also be a year older? Montini ran through their CCL schedule undefeated and were still hungry enough to walk through the 4A playoffs.
Who did people think was the best team that didn't make the title game? Pretty sure most people had Montini and Rochester penciled in from the start.

All.... Many think getting signed as an undrafted free agent isn't a big deal. Not so at times. Out of the six Cyclones that saw some NFL action three went undrafted. Two of those did pretty well. Malik Turner and Matt "meat Mitrione" who after the NFL had a career in mixed martial arts. Congrats to young Mr. Beatty He gets a shot.... Ratsy

Hoped he might be the first Rocket to get drafted. Sean Robinson, Wes Lunt, Garrett Dooley, and Avante Cox were previously in camps with various teams as free agents. Dooley had the most success, being on the Lions practice squad for a season. As I felt when he went to the U of I, Beatty will find a way to contribute and has a realistic chance to end up on either the practice squad or regular roster.
All.... Memory lane.... Garret Dooley the hardest working Rocket I have ever seen. I knew his parents Barbie and the Sgt. Major. He and his father worked out together with weights since that kid likely could walk. I believe he had a bad knee injury and recovered from it after college.
I recall a game against SHG on the road where he had broke through the middle of the line on a draw and a big db for the Cyclones comes running up and dropped him hard flat. The crowd went silent as he was on the ground for a few seconds. Garret jumps up like it was nothing and got back to business in that game. I believe at one time he was living in the Rochester area. Former Springfield High QB Rashad Rochelle, who played first at Rutgers and then at Indiana State as a WR, has been invited to participate in the Carolina Panthers rookie minicamp.
Former Titan Coach David Hay will be on the staff of the Red team in the upcoming June 20th Shrine game at Illinois Wesleyan. Former CS8 players who will be on the Red team are DE Connor Broughton (Rochester), DB Chezno Cottone (U High), LB Tate McCue (Chatham), and OL Zach Poole (Lincoln).

I was watching a YouTube documentary about a high school in Rockville, Connecticut which was absolutely well produced. A new coach in a town that had success in the 90s but as the economic decline that every town faces, thing got worse. A new coach and rebuilding a program. I think y'all would like it! Its only a 4 part series but well done. It draws one in with the lives of these players, the hard work they put in and following them from their freshmen year to their Senior season!

He had a play against the Rockets that still sticks with me. Blitzed on a 3rd and long, Rochelle back pedaled at least 15-20 yards behind the line of scrimmage, avoided multiple sack chances, finally decided to run when a gap opened in the middle, and ended up with a 60-70 yard score where he probably ran twice that distance with all of his scrambling.
All....Couldn't come up with the video. It was fourth down on the Senator 11 yard line. The game was still undecided. The play called from the sideline was a safe one a run with about six minutes left. Rashad (figures nope) I believe a freshman at the time rolls out and throws a long td pass for 89 yards. The final (a defensive battle lol) 49-41 Senators. His HC only yelled at him a little after the play.
