Well, he did make about $2.5M in NIL money last year. I can absolutely see some borderline players remaining in college an extra year to collect NIL money. Unless you go in the first four rounds or so, your chances of making it on the starting roster is slim.

That's two years in a row a hyped college QB saw their draft stock hurt b/c of personality/demeanor.

There's already some "he deserved better" and "he's just being punished for being brash" narratives going around. If he was a bona fide NFL QB, he'd have been drafted. If you're an undeniable NFL talent, you can get away with being a cocky loudmouth. When you're a borderline/fringe talent, NFL teams aren't going to risk very much bringing you into the locker room.

Locker room and off field distractions are avoided unless they true talents.
If he exuded a positive attitude and kept a lower profile, I have no doubt he'd have been drafted late in the draft. Given his tape from college, some NFL team would have rolled the dice on a late-round pick and maybe get lucky that he plays above his size in the pros.

Some folks make it seems thoroughly unfair that player attitude and demeanor is held against them in the draft. But that's life. Everywhere. In most professions there's a direct relationship between an individual's talent level and how much attitude/cockiness superiors are willing to tolerate. When the latter outweighs the former, you're viewed as a liability.

Pavia will get a chance via UDFA...some elevator cleats might help.

Yep. I read he measured 5'9" at the combine. He's also 24. By comparison Bryce Young is 24 and has 3 years under his belt. Trevor Lawrence is a year older, 25, with 5 years under his belt.

Just too many knocks against Pavia. Bad attitude. Too short. Too old.

So you're saying Pavia is a ''has been'' now that the old man has graduated from college.

there was some sarcasm hidden in my comment regarding the ''old man'' being a has been and he was much less mature than his younger teammates.

yeah, I got it! you might see more of this with the increasing age of college football rosters. you'll have older, more experienced players like Pavia who play well due to their age and experience advantage over the younger guys coming out of high school, but they aren't NFL caliber.

The only thing Pavia showed at Vandy was that he could take a hit. Manziel was exciting and had an “it” factor. Pavia has grit and an Only Fans mom…that’s it.

Pavia was a scrappy QB who got more "fame" because of Vandy making some noise. His mom's presence made the whole thing a show/brand.
The only show/brand the NFL is interested in is the NFL.

Signed a 3 year deal with the Ravens. Ravens only had 2 QBs on their roster. They signed 2 UDFA QBs.
Unless Pavia totally bombs, he'll likely get a pratice squad spot for '26 season.

Yeah, lots of fuss being made on X over him getting signed to a standard UDFA deal. The other QB they signed to a standard UDFA deal was a QB nobody on the planet had ever heard of.

But, he's got his chance. You can make a nice living as a practice squad player.

For comparison: Collin Hill signed an UDFA deal with the Bengals. Pavia's athleticism may keep him around in a practice squad type capacity. Just can't see him overcoming his glaring height disadvantage.
