This is what people who have no idea what they're talking about, publicly calling for another man's job, looks like
I am glad he has redeemed himself! It was rough for a few years, a few years ago...

No chance that fans simply didn't know what they were talking about? Of course not.
Fact is, Barnett took over a line that wasn't anywhere near ready to play (primarily physically), and built them into a Joe Moore line. Fans are welcome

You can scan all the threads, I've always been a Barnett supporter. Players love him. He is now keeping the funnel full of talent, very good recruiter.
I have heard his predecessor didn't coach as well and Barnett had to fix some bad habits.
Bad habits from guys that had never played?
Why do people refuse to understand something very simple? Barnett took over a group of players that were forced into action far too early. They simply weren't yet big and strong enough to get the job done

admitted. that said i want to see this year’s group play outstanding to confirm back to back performances before fully jumping on his bandwagon
also budmayr remains a question mark for me though he also can climb out of his hole if WRs perform as a top unit for 10 years in a row

Dunker stated if he had any more eligibility left, he would have come back to play for KF and GB another year.

College football's Top Offensive Lines: Georgia, Ohio State boast strong trench play entering 2026
Games are won up front, and these 10 teams boast the best lines heading into the 2026 college football season

While strong quarterback play, talented running backs and flashy wide receivers all make a difference in college football, a dependable line is at the foundation of every truly great offense. Last year's two College Football Playoff National Championship participants (Miami and Indiana) both relied on stellar trench play throughout their CFP runs.
It's no coincidence that most of the teams on this list are also considered early national title contenders for 2026. Georgia, Ohio State, Texas, Oklahoma, Notre Dame and Indiana were all in the top 10 in CBS Sports' 138 rankings this summer. Tennessee, Michigan and Iowa all ranked inside the top 25. A strong offensive line may not be enough to make a team a contender on its own, but it's hard to contend without one.
With proven experience and athletic upside, these 10 offensive lines are the best in college football entering the 2026 season.

2. Ohio State
3. Kentucky
4. Texas
5. Oklahoma
6. Notre Dame
7. Tennessee
8. Indiana
9. Iowa
The Joe Moore Award-winning group from 2025 returns two starters. Kade Pieper is back with nearly 900 career snaps and kicks inside to anchor the line this season, which will fit his skill set better. Pieper is scrappy and a fighter, but excels as a run blocker with quick feet and the ability to reach defenders on the front side and cut off defenders on the back side. Pieper is good in space and is a problem on the second level.
Trevor Lauck returns to man the blind side and does a nice job mixing up his sets. He is a force in the outside run game with quick feet and good technique. Leighton Jones is expected to be the left guard after logging 125 snaps last year. Jones looks solid as a run blocker, as you would expect. Trent Wilson is expected to man the right guard position and brings nearly 400 snaps of experience from James Madison. Wilson is a gritty player and should fit in well.
Jack Dotzler, like everyone at Iowa, is a good run blocker and has some work to do in dropback pass protection. Mike Myslinski was granted a sixth year of eligibility and will provide depth at center. He could also give the Hawkeyes the ability to kick Pieper back out to guard. There is not a ton of experienced depth behind the starters, but Iowa has some big bodies waiting in the wings.

I'll admit that I was very critical of Barnett in his first couple years, but with any coach was willing to give him time to prove himself. I'm happy to say that I was wrong.

I supported him when others called for his head. He was left with an empty cupboard, due to injuries and early departures.
I am hoping Barnett's son commits to Iowa. That might keep George in Iowa City a while longer.

And don't forget; opposing teams' coaches and players admitted that they knew what was coming because BF's offense was so bad and predictable. Therefore, it was hard for the OL to look good.

100%, huh? Pretty sure you too wanted Barnett's head a few years ago.
And as for predictability, we've been over this at least a few times.
For one, it's completely overrated. Trust me, teams have a real good idea what each other is running.
But as for the BF predictability narrative, it's just another laughable layer of mischaracterization.
Due to circumstances in '22/'23, the staff was forced to pare things down on offense. But they also consciously CHOSE to become MORE PREDICTABLE, for the sake of being intentional with a brick-by-brick rebuild.
Iowa is still reaping the benefits of that approach to this day. You're welcome.
And don't forget, we've been over this at least a few times
