He has offense in the bag. I think his issue is pulling the trigger. I hope thats what it is because thats an easier fix. But he has shown some offensive skill.

Coby freaking Merrill just beat Mason Parris and it was not that close.
I would say the new push out rules play in his favor. Guys can’t just go to their knees now.
Ross beat him last time they wrestled. But I think he will need to add some good weight, especially in the lower body to keep pace.
Also what is up with the new breed of young wrestlers?!? We've seen high school seniors beat an NCAA champ, and an Olympian/NCAA Champ today. Plus what Jax did. So many examples. How are these dudes so good so early? Was there some kind of massive jump in talent or technique or participation? Does anyone know how this is happening? 3 true freshman champs, two undefeated?!? Five freshman in finals? Did I miss anyone? Crazy.
Dang, Feels Jax didn’t prepare enough. Or Davino wanted it more. Does this weight has World trials?
He’ll have WTT to try and redeem. Agree w the sentiment of feeling less prepared than he needs to be. Maybe the same Nattie let down Wyatt had?
Davino and Blaze (and Seidel) are elite. Sometimes you just aren’t the best that day. Still confident Jax is the best among them and will win the matchup more times than not.
Now, can we shut up about healthy Kerk beating Wyatt at 2025 NCAA Semis.
Lotta weird results so far this US open. Carr lost to Amine, Jax lost to Davino, Parris lost to Merril

Freestyle is weird! The matches are short, the refs interfere, both athletes can score at the same time… definitely more chaotic as a style.
Zero reaction time exposures can be tough for guys who love to scramble. Throw in leg laces and FS can be a head scratcher and points can pile up in a hurry.

Davino doesn't beat Jax yesterday with folkstyle rules IMO - scrambling and quick whistle doesn't play to Jax's strengths

This is pretty light. What does he need to weigh by January 2027 to compete in D1? 240? 250?
Some good so far but overall disappointing. The Raney's and Villasenor not competing, disappointing because looked forward to seeing them wrestle. Also, disappointing Hamiti and especially Jax results. Dustin and Wyatt good results but did not wrestle anyone I thought should beat them. Amine with a big win but loses the next round with no offense. Cody has looked good but I thought he could of beat Machiavello but needs more offense attempts. I hope McKenna can beat Bassett but Bassett is a tornado who just messes everyone up like Messinbrink does. However the 20 and under results are all about current young cowboys and future Cowboys and so are more important as I see it. The RTC guys I want to win but the guys who are or will be wrestling for Oklahoma State are more important.
That is a concern that is awfully light, and in a year did not put on any weight. I would have hoped for at least 235. We will see how he matches up with a lot of good HWTs?
Cody Merrill loses to Schumate of Ohio St. Cody really came thru at Nationals but really wrestled poorly to lose this match.
Jax won by tech in consolations, blew his opponent off the mat. Amine lost 5 to 3 to Sealy was ahead 3 to 0 but seemed to fall apart at the end of the match. Hickman won his 1st match.
Amine didn't fall apart, he started wrestling defensively. He was going forward the whole match and then in the 2nd period when he got put on the clock, he took a shot and scored. Then he tried to sit on his 3-0 lead and paid for it.
Ronnie won by tech with 2 slide bys and 6 gut points. With Amine even his defense was pretty much gone with very little reaction to shots and off balance and likely very tired. I used the word fell apart because of lack of defense even.
