But they wouldn't or they would have and would be knocking down our door.
That's what everyone said with Cal. Between his ego, coaching deficiencies, and the officials screwing us we got ONE in over 10 yrs with some solid to great NBA players on every roster.
We can dream but that doesn't make it reality.
From what I understand of the last coaching search, Barnhart really dropped the ball. Many of the guys who should have been leading candidates were never even interviewed. Drew backed out, and Mitch had zero intention of going to the well to figure out a list of the best candidates to really see what our options were. You don't drop from Hurley(was never going to happen) and Drew to Mark Pope without an all-systems failure in leadership.
Don't even get me started on Calipari squandering talent. He recruited a mountain of talent early on, but didn't game plan like an elite coach, and didn't adjust well in game when better coaches threw something unexpected. How does a team with John Wall and Demarcus Cousins lose to a middling WVU squad? Cal's inability to make adjustments to beat a 1-3-1 matchup zone.
As far as officiating, you are right that there are serious problems with the way our games are officiated. There's a gambling and corruption problem in SEC officiating from top to bottom. It's insane to watch how games flow in other conferences. You know you are watching a well officiated contest when officiating isn't front and center. In those games, you barely notice the refs are there at all.
