Right now I like what I am seeing a pf and two incoming guards that can create on their own . However ,until pope can get better defensively , all the offense in the world will not get you very far . His defense and weak side help has been atrocious.

Dope, I’ll give ya. Lame and unfunny.
But Mark Poop? That’s a classic
Ironically, it seems I created Mark Poop sarcastically. Yes, a Pope supporter created it as a joke. People take things too seriously. It’s juvenile and childish, but ultimately the dumb nicknames are just jokes. I don’t like when people are vicious against our coach, because he is our coach. People have every right to be frustrated about the current product. I’m hopeful Pope serves a lot of crow very soon.

Of course other coaches are laughing at Pope. We heard this early last season. The product on the floor proved the critics correct. When BYU is better after Pope left, you know there's an issue. Pope is in waaay over his head at UK. Time will prove his critics were right all along. As fans we're just playing the waiting game.

It's objectively funny. I think even Mark Pope himself would admit that

Well yeah. Imagine if one of our rivals had a coach like this. We'd be laughing, right?
Sad to say but Pope is embarrassing. This is Mitch Barnhart “cowboy boots on Saturday” Boomer move to the extreme. Yes Mark is being laughed at wtf do people think. This is Kentucky Mitch has given us a parting gift that mirrors who he is in ways I could never imagine. Contact him hit the whiteboard trying to be tough, or scream “those MF’s MITCH!!” It’s awful. Anyone with credibility wouldn’t deny it.

For anyone still believing, pay more attention. This hire is NUMBER 1 reason why Mitch lost his job and his highway to hell chair. This hire is a national embarrassment and it ends very soon. That is a fact.

BYU wasn’t any better after Pope left. They got lots of talk because they paid Dybansta a fortune and they hung in there a while in the top 10-15. Weren’t really a threat. Pope’s first season here was better than BYU last season and Pope started with nothing. Don’t say anything about Saunders getting hurt either because we had our share of that and more this past season.

No they weren't, and really haven't built much of a roster this year either. Last year they had 3 really good players one other solid player, were 4 deep. This year it's Wright and a freshmen they'll be counting on. Don't expect them to make a lot of noise.

It is, but none of the best are dying to take the job. There's a difference.
I said some of those same coaches would kill for this job. They would. And college basketball wouldn't be laughing if one of those dudes was coaching here in this era. You could put together a Wooden like run here with the right coach in this environment.

But they wouldn't or they would have and would be knocking down our door.

That's what everyone said with Cal. Between his ego, coaching deficiencies, and the officials screwing us we got ONE in over 10 yrs with some solid to great NBA players on every roster.

We can dream but that doesn't make it reality.

From what I understand of the last coaching search, Barnhart really dropped the ball. Many of the guys who should have been leading candidates were never even interviewed. Drew backed out, and Mitch had zero intention of going to the well to figure out a list of the best candidates to really see what our options were. You don't drop from Hurley(was never going to happen) and Drew to Mark Pope without an all-systems failure in leadership.

Don't even get me started on Calipari squandering talent. He recruited a mountain of talent early on, but didn't game plan like an elite coach, and didn't adjust well in game when better coaches threw something unexpected. How does a team with John Wall and Demarcus Cousins lose to a middling WVU squad? Cal's inability to make adjustments to beat a 1-3-1 matchup zone.

As far as officiating, you are right that there are serious problems with the way our games are officiated. There's a gambling and corruption problem in SEC officiating from top to bottom. It's insane to watch how games flow in other conferences. You know you are watching a well officiated contest when officiating isn't front and center. In those games, you barely notice the refs are there at all.

95% of those laughing are supposed “UK” fans. Majority of casual fans and fans of other teams have zero to little knowledge of our roster for next year because they simply don’t track that like we do. The embarrassment is mostly self inflicted by our own and the worse part is our own fans repost it, post it and create the embarrassing narrative themselves. Then they don't understand why when a player spurns us, without realizing we made coming to Kentucky “uncool” now because of the mindless slop continually put out on social media and the internet from our own people.

Everyone knows Pope isn’t elite and never will be, but he’s not a clown or bottom dweller either. So for me I’m going to root for the Cats and I’m going to lean on the side of optimism for our future knowing I don’t control it but that changes will be made and we will rise to the top again. Life is about ebbs and flows and ups and downs and basketball is no different.
Talked to my friend who is a KU fan, he straight up told me “Kentucky is in decline.”

It’s not just UK fans that have noticed the direction of the program. Some on here are clouded by nostalgia for 96. 96 what 30 years ago.

Oh? So they got their *** whipped by Gonzaga by 35? I must have missed that.
