There will be no all-NLWC final at 86 kilograms

In the first 86-kilogram semifinal to finish, top-seeded NLWC wrestler Kyle Dake beat Aeoden Sinclair by decision, 6-1, to move into tomorrow's final. But, there won't be an all NLWC final as Parker Keckeisen beat Rocco Welsh in the other semi 11-4. The former UNI wrestler led 7-4 in the second period and used a late four-point throw to secure the win. It'll be Dake/Keckeisen in tomorrow's final.

Macchiavello up 2-0 on Barr, who is really favoring his right knee, requiring a medical stoppage.

Macch bullying Barr a bit. Barr’s knee is definitely not ok though. He has wobbled multiple times when breaking apart

I think he’s referring to injuries to 20% of our presumed 26-27 starting lineup
If so that’s more understandable but still not a disaster. Even at the very worst we would just plug in Duke and Mirasola. Pretty sure it will be ok. I absolutely hate seeing our guys go down injured though. Kasak is a weird case. Barr is hopefully nothing serious. Even if it is he has a long time to recover and no wrestling he has to do the rest of the summer. He can’t make a team now so he can just focus on getting healthy

Are you serious?! In the finals at 57kg, 61kg, 79kg in final x, 86kg, 97kg in final x. Also have Duke and Mesenbrink still able to make the team at 70kg and 74kg. That has potential to be 7 of the 10 spots on the team
Dake and Snyder mean very little to me. Haines isn’t in this tournament

- Desmond looks capped at 133
- Major injuries to two projected starters
- Mirasolas have cement blocks for feet with any extra weight to them

Not over yet. Maybe Luke pulls off something crazy, but so far if you wrestle the tournament to this point 100 times, you come away feeling better in 98 of them.

Blaze, Henckel, and Welsh look good to me.

But, three others, Tyler Kasak (70 kilograms), Rocco Welsh (86), and Josh Barr (92) dropped their semifinal bouts. Other than Barr ( who is injured) who do you think has underperformed? Mirasola losing looked bad but next match that kid beats Parris 8-1. I’m not sure anyone else has underperformed at all. The injuries absolutely suck

I don’t expect Luke to win. But I hope he wrestles to try to win instead of trying to keep it close.
