Up to date for Maryland. There's lots of talk about a great transfer class, but there was last year as well, and we know how the season turned out...

FYI, it's just in that Maryland's Myles Rice (portal guy added last spring) is hitting the portal and will seek to play for his fourth school. Not to be confused with Rodney Rice, a portal guy from two years ago who had a great season at Maryland and then parlayed that into big money at USC (where he promptly got hurt and missed last season)...

Big 10 reloading, those are some impressive hauls, esp Indiana and Maryland.
Indiana pulls from portal have been pretty crazy, have to assume they’re a contender for top half of the league and maybe even higher. Buzz may get things on track at MD after a throwaway year. Illinois has retained quite a bit from their final four roster, as Trilly Donovan says sometimes the best gets are the ones you already have. Stojakovic, the twins, Mirkovic, and Jake Davis all returning plus Vaaks added from Providence.

True. But also a fair amount of teams like Nebraska, NWU, Iowa and PSU with signings on paper more in line with (or perhaps even worse than) RU.
Unfortunately the NW/PSU/RU additions are along the same type of talent. RU however has better returning talent than those schools. Based on the initial listing of what schools have Washington may be in trouble but besides maybe Oregon/Minny its tough to put RU ahead of anyone else for next year heading into the season. Looking like 11th-15th positioning

I wonder how Oregon remains so mediocre with all the money they have at their disposal...

Iowa is losing some good talent too with Stirtz graduating, Banks in the portal, and Folgueiras expected to join him. Same with Washington.

They had some big injuries last year but were good the year before. Looks like their best players are gone or graduated and perhaps Altmaan headed toward retirement if they arent successful next year

According to the great Jeff Ermann of InsideMDSports, Maryland has added a shooter. In the article, Ermann says this is the last expected addition...

This is the relevant comparison.

Not prior Rutgers teams ("offense was fine - last season was one of the best Pike offenses ever") or to even last seasons roster ("Gurdak/Smith is better than Grant/Ogbole").

We aren't playing against Ogbole and Grant this year.

It seems expected finish is still outside the Top 10 in the B1G?
Unless Pike pulls some smoke and mirrors?

Big 10 is going to be a bear next year as evidenced by Rothstein pre season top 45:

1 - Michigan
4 - Illinois
6 - Mich State
12 - USC
17 - Indiana
22 - Purdue
23 - Ohio State
24 - UCLA
27 - Nebraska
30 - Wisconsin
34 - Iowa.

Plus I’m sure Maryland / Oregon and Washington will be much improved.

Of the above ranked teams we should see the following teams at the RAC next year :

Michigan
Illinois
USC
UCLA
Wisconsin
Iowa
Possibly Sparty

i also expecting home games with Maryland / Minnesota and PSU

Wisconsin lost their two best players - one to graduation (Boyd) and the other (Blackwell) to the portal. their incoming haul looks similar to RU's:
Guard Trey Autry (George Washington), forward Victory Onuetu (Hofstra), and wing Eian Elmer (Miami OH).

Yes, Rutgers roster should be better next season especially at the center and power forward positions.A important question going forward is how the roster compares to the other B1G Ten teams.I also will be concerned regarding the half court offense which lacked player/ball movemen the last season,No changes in the coaching staff is a concern.

Gard overachieves every year relative to his team’s perceived talent. A new stud seems to rise from the ashes each year and they just keep pumping out the same team…

Wisconsin better haul. But also the better coach, Elmer was the star for Miami OH.
I like Elmer and Autry but they're nowhere close to Boyd and Blackwell. Add in losing Bieliauskas and they're due for a regression this year. Same with Minnesota, Washington, Ohio State, and Wisconsin. All teams that finished ahead of Rutgers.

Jeff Ermann of InsideMDSports is reporting that there's a good chance Maryland lands 5-star center Obinna Ekezie Jr. (7-footer whose father played at Maryland years ago before an NBA career). It appears that the new AD has provided the program with tons of money this year. Ha ha, there might not be a scholarship open, but does that even matter anymore?

Minnesota had 6 players last year and finished ahead of Rutgers..they will be better..do you think wisconsin will finish behind Rutgers? Really?

No I don't think Wisconsin will finish behind Rutgers but I do think they'll be worse this year.

Minnesota had 6 players for the final third of last year but most of the guys that got hurt are not coming back this year. The only one that got hurt that's coming back is Crocker-Johnson. That's on top of losing Cade Tyson and Langston Reynolds (Elite perimeter defender). Assuming Rutgers gets a guard that upgrades from Mark and a backup C that's an upgrade from Ogbole, I have Minnesota as one of the five teams behind them.

It’d be shocking if we’re planning to bring in a guard to push Mark to the bench. I don’t care what the buzz is out there about our so called plans. I just can’t see us pushing to spend on another starting caliber guard. Maybe another versatile combo wing type - hopefully one who defends. Need to focus on as for the last few pick ups.

The Michigan guard was highly touted and they have a 7ft 2 center also from Michigan and the UNC player who played for csu with Medved..last year Medved did an incredible job given the circumstances. A backslide would be surprising. They look in the same range as Rutgers and Oregon for 13th-15th

I wouldn't be surprised if Kyan Evans bounces back but a dream season for him is what he's replacing with Tyson. The other two are basically complete unknowns at the high major level but we'll see. Like you said Grady was a top 60 recruit and you can't teach 7'2, although he didn't start playing until 2021, so maybe they put it together.

again alot of question marks much like Rutgers who is running back the same small guards from a 14-20 team while adding pieces perceived to be an upgrade in the frontcourt. With USC, Indiana and Maryland appearing to have substantial upgrades, I dont see how any of those bottom 6 from last year can move up and contend for a NCAA bid. It would rely on Wisconsin and Iowa also falling apart to sub 500 big 10 marks

Ohio State has secured a key piece for its 2026-27 roster, landing former Memphis and LSU guard Curtis Givens III

The Buckeyes have already added some key pieces prior to Givens, securing Duquese guard Jimmie Williams, Kentucky transfer forward Andrija Jelavic, and ex-Cal guard Justin Pippen, the son of NBA legend Scottie Pippen.
