I went to the source material to assess the content. The content is consistent with the results Pope has displayed in roster building.

Still feels a lot better when you are a program kids want to be part of, rather than run away from. Cal always felt like one perfect recruiting class (Anthony Davis) away from making a run. Pope feels like he's one banana peel away from slipping on hid head.
Based off the last two years, my confidence is shot on what Pope can produce, even if he gets Stokes.

If several high profile coaches are laughing at Pope…and after this portal season, they definitely are if they weren’t before…you don’t think this negatively impacts recruiting even further?
My guess most of the guys being recruited are being done so by other coaches who also do things “because a computer told them to.”
None of those guys will sub out a dude who is obviously cooking at the first tv timeout strictly for analytics, though. Pope will, has, and will continue to do that

You’re missing the forest of my point, because you’re looking at a tree. The point of analytics is to make inferences. Almost every top coach makes inferences based on analytics. Pope’s substitution patterns are an issue but it has nothing to do with a computer.
Has there been a recent public sighting of Pope? Is a wellness check in order?
My point is that Pope doesn’t make inferences. If analytics say “x”, then he’s going to do “x”. He doesn’t just use it as a guide to influence his decision making. It makes his decisions for him.
There are zero facts that Mitch or UK had Donovan on the porch or even interested in coaching in Lexington. Where is it published that Billy D was ever considering coaching in Lexington or even Gainesville. Show me proff that our administration allowed anything to happen good or bad in regards to Billy Donovan. It there was any proof that Billy would even take a phone call from an opening at the college level. When Pope was hired, Billy D was most likely not inteested in any job other than coaching the Bulls. In all honesty, I doubt anyone on this board has a clue who was a considered coach as a Cal replacement. Does anyone know who Mitch contacted in his search for a coach. Have we heard of any coach say they were contacted or were offered the head basketball coach at the University of Kentucky? Is all the Oats, Pearl, Hurley, and Donovan as whiffs real or were those names just wishful thinking?Less than a year from now, we are all going to look back and remember Mitch/ AD basically had Billy Donovan standing on the porch with a big bow around his head, practically waiting for the job offer, but we instead all sat around our computers and discussed how the 5th option PF from New Guinea left the closing table without a commitment, only to have KU come in and make him Self’s replacement shortly thereafter!

Not to mention players on opposing teams stating in interviews that they knew we were soft and would fold if they dialed up the pressure. Not a great look for opponents to say that in interviews especially when they were right.
