So they are letting the on the way out chancellor in Camden have a swan song - after a less than good tenure as heading the campus. Hopefully they find a good one after him.

RU-Camden is in trouble as it is definitely the red headed stepchild of the RU schools. Tate has his work cut out for him. Need to hire a good one otherwise it wouldn't shock me if the Rowan sharks start swimming circles again like they did a decade plus ago.

Retired Admiral William Fallon is addressing the college of Arts and Sciences in Camden. If Tate and Rutgers fail to support Rutgers Csmden it will be a real shame. Rutgers Camden is a much better school than Rowan. Tate is the reason that Tillis is not returning so hopefully he has Rutgers Camden's well beIng as a priority.

Heard the same thing. Tate made the call … similar to when Cantor was given the axe (and deservedly so) in Newark a couple of years ago.

Pritchett was the last great Camden chancellor.

I look at Camden as a leech on resources. We really don't need it.....

Yea, really.
I'm sorry you guys don't get it but I don't care about feelz. Camden is a leech, does nothing for the Rutgers brand. If you went there, not my issue. If your kids went there, sorry you failed them. I don't care. NB should be the only concern as the flagship and Newark and Camden LEECH off funds.

you guys are tar^ed with your response.

Commencement addresses are withering away. Some addresses are pre-recorded. others stick to alumni with rah rah success stories etc. I don't even recognize most invited speakers these days.

Google AI

"College commencement speakers are increasingly facing scrutiny, with many universities moving away from popular or controversial figures in favor of internal speakers, pre-recorded messages, or no outside speakers at all, driven by fears of political polarization, protests, and safety concerns. The traditional, high-profile celebrity speaker is being challenged by a desire to avoid controversy and to focus on the students, as evidenced by recent decisions at NYU to move to pre-recorded speeches and the cancellation of speakers at other institutions."

NYU has a terrible new solution to curb speakers getting political at commencement

NYU barely has a traditional physical campus so them not having a traditional grad speaker is pretty spot on for them.

Makes sense.

I miss some of the addresses that would go viral. I dont really see them anymore. The last big commencement address I saw go around was the military officer telling people to make their bed the first thing every day lol
