When guys are dragging it out several possibilities are present. Wanting to take all their visits, probably not the case here. Money? always a factor today. Previous relationships is where I'm hanging my hat on this one. Franklin and his QB coach have strong ties with Bourque. ND landed their QB recently. After all that I still like our chances in the end.

Last I saw, Wiltfong Crystal Ball on 3/16/26 to PSU with 60% confidence. Have not seen any updates.
I was wrong. I definitely misread it from yesterday. Wiltfong did an article on Virginia Tech and Bourque, and I could’ve sworn he put a crystal ball in there, but I was clearly wrong. I apologize.

I give him credit for sticking with Oregon... sitting behind 2 - 5 Star QB's he could be sitting for awhile on the bench.I’m shocked.
It was always an easy decision to make.

I'd say he's slightly more mobile but not quit Will Woods. I read an article a few weeks back where he's was quoted along the lines of wanting to go somewhere with good offensive line play, though. He said it's important to him to be able to hold up.
I wouldn't be surprised if Franklin threw the bag at him though - just feels like a big moment for Tech to make a statement.
James would sacrifice his NIL war chest to broadcast a recruiting win over PSU. James gave Olesh $1m to sit for just to showcase a big recruiting win over Michigan at the expense of filling major portal needs, like DT, heading into 2025. Campbell does not operate that way. Our GM office has positions and people graded in their system, and we generally stick to that system. Crazy enough, VT currently has better depth at QB than we do, so it is likely Bourque would sit longer in Blacksburg.
It’s interesting you asked that question. I thought of Allar (as a runner) when watching Bourque’s highlights. By comparison, the recruit Woods is a much better runner than Bourque. Woods reminds me of McSorley.
I loved McSorely. I dunno but maybe we are better off with Woods.
It is interesting to think about...is Bourque Allar and Woods Pribula? Or is Woods a better passer and bigger than Pribula? I get nervous about Bourque when comps drift toward Allar. To be fair, Allar was ruined by BGJ, Yurcich, Kotelnicki and O'Brien. With that said, I think to compete in modern college football you need a mobile QB. Doesn't have to be Lamar Jackson but I would say at least as mobile as Fernando Mendoza.
No; when he had to run, he looked very awkward. That's why I'd never draft him.
He committed to Michigan on August 11, 2025, when Franklin was still solidly the PSU coach.

I’m pretty sure this is Hassan Reddick’s brother. He’s listed at 6’1” and 225 lbs. He doesn’t seem to fit the mold of LB/Edge this staff is targeting after all the talk of them wanting taller LBs.

What am I missing with Jamir Dean? 6' 3" WR with good speed. We're the only major program that appears to be on his radar. What gives?
I was searching for his 40 time and there is nothing on the web. Perhaps a lack of speed?
247 has a decent profile for him. 11.41 100 m, 23.67 200 m, 6’6” high jump, 1000 career points in basketball through junior year, plays O and D in football. He’s got a pretty good rating on 247.
Speed just a little above average for Div 1 WRs but I like his high jump @ 6'6", possibly indicating ability to high point the football with his size, 6'3". Also like he has excelled in bball (athletic).
11.41 was an old time. According to the official site for Tennessee HS Track, Dean ran a 10.94 in the 100m this year.

Dean fits the profile of WR Campbell seems to prefer. Seems like a kid that got a strong eval from the staff.
Those are impressive results. He does just about every T&F event. He does the decathlon.
Wasn't aware of that. Athletic. Kid sounds like an excellent prospect to develop. This seems to be the CMC staff MO. "Patience grasshopper", patience.
Word on the street is that VT likely has a significantly higher $ offer than PSU for Bourque. James may want that “win” over PSU, and if he gets it he will promote the hell out of it. Not sure if Bourque witnessed what James did to a very similar qb profile in Allar, no wr action, conservative throws, and forcing the pocket passers to run. We just do not operate this way with NIL in terms of drastically overpaying vs our system. It is what it is. We had several recruiting wins over James thus far but he may win this one.
Any kid with pro aspirations and half a brain would take one look at that putrid offense and the QB development under Franklin and run away as fast as he can, no matter how much money was being waved in front of him.

According to 247, we are 6th nationally. But player ratings now will not be the same as November as it is early in the process and there will be multiple refreshes during the fall high school football season.
Are you suggesting that a lot of PSU recruits are under the radar kids who we can coach up and compete with the top 5 teams in the BiG? I hope you're correct but I'm skeptical.
