Rutgers Wrestling has added a new opponent to their 2026-27 schedule, as they will renew the series with the Mountain Hawks.

Good move. They should wrestle every year. Stop wrestling tomato cans like Bloomsburg.
Agree 100% … quality ooc matchup that’s close and a should have solid RU attendance at their place as well as a decent showing by them at ours.
I think we should have UPenn/lehigh and rider/princeton 1 home 1 away of each pair every year on the schedule
if Donnie raises Columbia even further then I’d add Columbia/army as a pair also.

They literally were last year by all metrics. Dual success /conference success/ AAs /ncaa team pointsBut I thought Columbia was already better than Rutgers?
They have three starters in the portal - will have to make up for that. That's Donny's thanks for developing them.
They are all grad transfers no? i didnt think anyone with ivy eligibility left
If we dualed cornell 100x we’d lose 100 times no matter how down they are and Donnie just beat them year 2 so as long as him and Seabass/Buxton are at Columbia I’m not predicting us to beat them. It’ll be a dogfight toss up at best
Seymour's out of eligibility. Will be either Lopes or Ziegler for Lehigh.
Lehigh likely to have their typical top 15 or so team next season.

instantly a better big 10 tournament and NCAA team by just adding Knox. if we land crook we should be a top 15 dual team again assuming the harers wrestle as advertised. We have the potential to be really good if the young guys (harers,Barbosa,ford/ chapman ) keep improving or we could take a step back if those guys don’t develop as expected.
id Expect to see Knox in the ncaa semis atleast
Unger, SCW, Cotton ,Herrera will be ranked guys and NQs , R16/r/12 low AA types. They season will be determined by the progress of the other 5 weights

He’s not going to start unless he bulked up to 157 and is beating C Harer . His best win is over Dunnigan who was a backup at UPenn. He lost 15-1 to lock havens 3rd string guy at the end of the season
Harer is a blue chip recruit.. it would be a bit of a letdown if he can’t come in and win the spot(unless he chooses to RS)
I don't expect him to redshirt. His brother will be back and is projected to be at 157, based on everything I've been able to determine. Connor was also a blue-chip. Will he be better after the redshirt year?
Brandt was #10 class recruit and Connor was mid 20s coming out of hs. To put it visually, Brandt = 5 star recruit, Connor = 4 star recruit… usually 5 stars recruit are expected to compete for AA, in some cases, National titles right out the gate(Knox #3)..
I do remember Connor getting a ton of hype coming out of hs tho being he is 3x Pa champ. He’s really strong on top would have to imagine he is at least a NQ this year.. felt like he shoulda got an at large bid his freshman year.
Yeah but if ur expecting like AA lvl jumps then idk.. I wouldn’t expect any jumps.. from anybody really until they prove it on the mat.. bc we seen guys come off RS/gain extra year of exp and stay the same.. some cases regress.. so who knows..

Would agree. It kind of stinks for Rutgers if the reigns had been turned over to Donnie Rutgers would likely be stronger team, and heck of a staff. Keep Buxton at RTC can still bring in AA, and someone heavy’s and that all around would be a really compelling staff. short of getting someone like Burroughs that staff would have easily taken it to the next level and had a serious recruiting edge with plenty of international and Olympic credentials.
