Yawn... Pope tries a lot of things.

And before any of you slurpers jump on the sack, I've said in multiple threads that Jamal is one of my favorite basketball players ever, and I think he would be a slam dunk hire.

Show me some RESULTS and I will respect it.

This is either serious or an embarrassing act of desperation. We will see.

Yep I’ll go check it out and brb
Basically Crawford turned down job offer before but is back into talks. Pope wants to give him recruiting autonomy. Crawford sees UK brand as a launching pad to a potential head coaching career. Stokes also heavily linked to Crawford.

That’s the TLDR as this idiot understood it

I don't know why any big name would sign on with Pope right now. The ice is way too thin and Pope isn't a strong enough personality to be the head guy over a dude like Crawford.
I'm surprised Mo Williams signed on.

Some of you think it's funny to refer to anyone outside your little hate hive as family members of CMP, or performers of lewd acts. You are people of very low quality. Small minded attack dogs.
And you lack any originality/creativity.

Even aside from the Stokes connection, having a guy with the NBA pedigree such as is combined with the swagger that this coaching staff so desperately needs to be able to actually connect to players would be a massive get. Just have my doubts that he would leave his son in Washington and a cushy media job.

Thanks Village! Gotta say, sounds like a good plan if he can make it happen.

Easy...

There are still other "break in case of emergency" options if we don't land Stokes. It'd be best to just go ahead and land the plane here though.
I hear you, but to really get the fans back in somewhat of an optimistic state of my mind, he has to get Stokes, even if it means selling one of his own kids on the black market.

Anyone who exhibits any positivity toward program or dares hope that the situation might improve has now become a "slurper". The word to describe you and your ilk is not appropriate for this forum. I wish you would really go root for someone else. UK and fans who enjoy following the team don't need you

Desperation, Pope had exhausted every avenue possible for getting Stokes and still hasn’t got a commitment yet.

Nastiest crossover since AI.
Crawford shake n bake better than AI IMO.

When he just left Kirk Hinrich looking like a statue    .

I grew up in NY, so I saw a lot of him when he was on the Knicks -- they had Zach Randolph on that team with him before Randolph matured, so there was much losing and a lot of hilarious moments. Oh, and Isaiah Thomas was the coach LMAO. IDGAF, I was conditioned to the Knicks sucking. I would try Crawford moves on people and fail miserably. Fun times.

I would think Mo felt like the opportunity to be on staff at UK was too good to pass up. The last 5-6 years have been rough but it’s still UK.

I’m guessing he’s confident he can help turn it around. He gave up a head coaching job and is bringing his son along.

And I hope like hell Pope can convince Crawford to join the staff. I’m guessing it’s doubtful but Pope seemingly recognizes he needs to fix the recruiting. Helping seal the deal for Stokes would be a good start.
