The only reason he was given this sweetheart deal in the first place is that Capiluto was concerned that Barnhardt was in over his head regarding the NIL landscape and wanted JMI to take the reins. As a "consolation" prize, Barnhart would get a sweetheart retirement package via this new role, with the actual job responsibilities to be figured out later. Both Capiluto and Barnhart have been robbing UK blind for a while now. Hopefully the tweet by Beshear has brought enough visibility to this issue that some real action will be taken.

Agreed. Capiluto has been running UK like his little personal fiefdom, ignoring the board when it suits him, etc.. There is a systemic rot at UK that needs to be rooted out, with Capiluto and Barnhart at the center of it.
He should donate 1 mil to me and 1 mil to you for his corrupted contract.
I'm with Drew Franklin on this one, hopefully that includes the 10 lower level lifetime tickets Barnhardt was asking for.

That will almost certainly happen. Mitch runs around Lexington proclaiming himself this "godly" man, all the while running one of the most corrupt athletic departments in the country. It's a virtual lock that he will end up suing, IMO. The man has no shame.
When the uproar about his golden parachute deal started, Mitch joked about people thinking he was getting paid a cool $1 million/year to "eat hay." If he sues, perhaps UK could offer settlement terms such that that's his actual job function. OK, Mitch, you sued, so you'll get your bag of money, but you have to spend the workday in a barn and eat hay, with an established daily consumption quota. Money well spent, I'd say.
Capilouto needs to go as well. He had to have signed off on the deal for it to have ever been in place. He's just as corrupt.
They should throw him and Capiluto in jail for all the collusion.
