The negativity has gotten so bad I hate coming here to check news. I canceled my pay subscription because it was 95% negative. I never believed we had bad fans until now. Pope hasn’t earned all this vile bashing. Sweet 16 with a bare roster first year. He screwed up last year’s roster but it was also the first year of JMI and I think changes had to be made. Agents complained.
Barnhart is the worst AD in college sports and that is finally coming to light. JMI was and is a recruiting nightmare for basketball’s elite.
Between all the Poop people, WHIF PEOPLE, and people using everything on this board that other coaches use to negatively recruit, why would any young player want to come here ??

I also think topics like sports, politics, religion or anything where there are two sides of the coin. It’s hard to be impartial when human nature is to have a desire to always be right. I like Pope, I wanted him to work out but I’ve played enough sports and been around long enough to recognize red flags in sports and in business. Sometimes these red flags can be overcome and sometimes you can have random success but long term success and
deficiencies don’t often mix. I agree that some other random fans like to stir the pot, but it’s also stubbornness. I know griping about Pope won’t change a thing other than my blood pressure and I want to start giving him more credit, I’m just waiting patiently.

I like Pope because I feel like he hasn't had a fair shot at his coaching and he needs time to adjust.
