Mencl isn't a statue like Raiola. In his senior year, he ran for 741 yards on 118 carries, with 17 rushing touchdowns. He also passed for 3815 yards. He played for Chandler HS, which is in Arizona's highest classification for high school sports. Coincidentally, that's the same high school that Raiola attended as a junior.

I’ve read some puff pieces from Oregon that are hyping up Dylan’s work ethic, cerebral approach, and his contribution to the competitiveness of the QB room. Doesn’t mean anything more than offseason articles around here. Spring game is Saturday, so he gets a chance to show something.

I have no idea how his career @ oregon is going to pan out. I could see him never playing a down and I could see him excelling around the good coaching and talent upgrade, or somewhere in between. I have no idea , but I love college football , so I will be paying attention. I also don't have a huge problem with them like some fans appear to, and wish him the best

He’s going to have top-notch competition if he wants to be at a top-notch program.
Have to wonder how much of his decision to come to NU was because it provided the easiest path to playing time/experience vs being the son of a legacy who grew up loving the Huskers. Easy to want to buy-in on the feel good stories from the first part of his career at NU that it was the latter, but given how things turned out, seems more likely it was the former.
