Is there a single reason to think it's not going to turn out the same way as the debacle there 9 days ago?

The only hope I would see is if BOTH Scarelli and Sommer return to the lineup fully healthy. Still an uphill battle even with both of them, but NOT "losing 12-2" type of uphill battle.

Since the other tournament thread containing discussion about how many B1Gs might advance to the NCAAs was locked for some reason -- what do you all think about that? I am expecting only the automatic qualifier to advance, honestly...

Ill go with three. Unless there is complete chaos in the autos.

At the risk of this thread also being shut down I'll repeat that B1G, ACC and Ivy each getting 3.

Thank you, folks. Let's hope I was being to pessimistic about the B1G.

It seems like the lacrosse world would howl if either Penn State (7-5) or Maryland (6-5) got in with those W-L records. Hopkins and Ohio State look better in that regard...

Maryland's record isn't the best but their metrics are solid. Hopkins seems safe. Penn St. has a better case than a number of bubble teams. Ohio St is the one on the outside, imo.

OSU lives or dies with Fyock's performance in the B1G tourney.
I can see them making a little run. Their D is just too good to ignore. Big, fast, and nasty across the board. Their offense sputters a long but that D will keep them in most any game. I can see them beating Michigan at home, then taking Hopkins on the road at Rutgers. Seems to be a bit of a house of horrors at SHI for Hopkins, and the one way to get ahead of OSU is to go early in unsettled offense, and that is not something that Hopkins likes to do. They are a grind the shot clock down team which plays into OSU's strength.

Maryland has history being a top tier lacrosse school.Rutgers hosting the final four league championship games but likely will 'lose to Maryland.in the quarter finals.

"Next man up" for Schaller has played very well. If that continues Maryland will be a tough out.

Go early in unsettled offense and shoot high.

Hoping the crowds are solid and RU proves to be a good host.

BTW, whatever genius decided to use the main gate entrance and then funnel people halfway around the stadium to the 50 yard line should be fired. Makes way more sense to use the side entrance for lax games.
