#15, fifth in B1G.
Sorry about thatThanks - link tried to open Chrome on my iPhone and went nowhere….
Soft? Check out Notre Dame's schedule. There is a reason they want to stay independent: they pick where they want to play (for recruiting purposes) and who they want to play (ranking purposes). The fact that the teams from the top 4 conferences continue to schedule them and allow this to happen is a joke. And yes I know they have an ACC "affiliation" but even that allows for only one or two tough games a year and not even a half conference schedule. The highest ranked team we play is #14 Michigan (on the road) and we are #15. Only other ranked teams we play are #17 Washington (on the road) and #20 USC (home).
Our schedule is so soft. We have to get to 10-2.
How do we know our schedule is soft when we know nothing about the teams we’re playing due to the transfer portal? Prior to our season two years ago, Indiana was a slam dunk win.The highest ranked team we play is #14 Michigan (on the road) and we are #15. All true but, yes, our schedule is soft lolSoft? Check out Notre Dame's schedule. The non-conference slate is a joke and we avoid the top teams in the Big Ten. On paper, it's a soft schedule. It's okay to embrace that--many teams are doing the same. Michigan did so for years (finally added OU this year though which is far better than Temple as your big OOC game)How do we know our schedule is soft when we know nothing about the teams we’re playing due to the transfer portal? I agree the OOC schedule isn't impressive....not even respectable....however that is what our previous HC assured us was necessary to win the MNC!The non-conference slate is a joke and we avoid the top teams in the Big Ten. You must have missed Campbell replacing Delaware with Maine on the 2027 schedule. Give it a rest; beyond tiresome.I agree the OOC schedule isn't impressive....not even respectable....however that is what our previous HC assured us was necessary to win the MNC!
While the first easy game may be wise...do all 3 games provide enough data to enter B1G schedule?
Yes, lets give a little grace here. Everyone was upset with how the 2025 season turned out and Franklin took the hit. Franklin did good things for PSU: won a lot of games, won some big bowl games, updated and upgraded the football infrastructure. But he lost to Ohio State a few times when it looked like PSU could have won. Now there's a transition to Campbell. Thank goodness the schedule is what it is. It certainly came at the right time. I hope Campbell can improve on the things Franklin did. Franklin did do positive stuff at PSU. Long term, I won't remember him just for 2025 -- his history is more than that. You must have missed Campbell replacing Delaware with Maine on the 2027 schedule. Give it a rest; beyond tiresome.
Other than the OOC part, we have no idea how difficult our schedule is going to be. We also have no idea how good we’re going to be, so every Big game may be a challenge. Teams aren’t just going to let us win because we’re Penn State. The non-conference slate is a joke and we avoid the top teams in the Big Ten. On paper, it's a soft schedule. And I’m sure it’s Franklin’s fault we don’t play OSU, Oregon, or Indiana this year. Some people are going to blame Franklin for everything for the next 10 years (or longer).Yes, lets give a little grace here. That's fair. But that shouldn't alter expectations. We are Penn State and we should be able to beat the teams on our schedule with a couple exceptions. Upsets happen but it shouldn't be expected. The primary issue I have and why I say the schedule is soft on the OOC. I can't bash Michigan for it then pretend it's cool for us. It's simply unacceptableOther than the OOC part, we have no idea how difficult our schedule is going to be. We also have no idea how good we’re going to be, so every Big game may be a challenge. They will but he's gone (thankfully IMO) and whatever happens from here on out is on the current staff. Can't worry about the past. What's done is done. And I’m sure it’s Franklin’s fault we don’t play OSU, Oregon, or Indiana this year. Some people are going to blame Franklin for everything for the next 10 years (or longer).
My fav is fanboys here take the stats after 3 blue hen slaughters and say “we’re 7th nationally in rushing’ and “our QB has the third best rating in the country”. I don’t mind the sister Mary poor front end wins but posting data about them is weak sauceI agree the OOC schedule isn't impressive....not even respectable....however that is what our previous HC assured us was necessary to win the MNC!

WOW....that really must have been beyond your cognitive ability. You must have missed Campbell replacing Delaware with Maine on the 2027 schedule. Give it a rest; beyond tiresome.

Better than having none like youWOW....that really must have been beyond your cognitive ability.
I don’t understand your special kind of stupid but notice you are fully committed to demonstrating it.WOW....that really must have been beyond your cognitive ability.
These rankings reflect the portal movement so far. Could Rutgers be the next Indiana? Highly doubt it. Is Wisconsin going to be a really good team under Luke Fickell who has done nothing in his tenure. Minnesota, Maryland? Purdue is one of the worst P4 programs. It is a reach to think these teams will be good. We will clearly be favored in all these games. The schedule is soft, no two ways about it.Other than the OOC part, we have no idea how difficult our schedule is going to be. Just as stupid as you for showing your ever lasting love for that farce of a football coach. Actually, your kind of stupid runs quite deeper.I don’t understand your special kind of stupid but notice you are fully committed to demonstrating it.
You mean like every other team in the country does?My fav is fanboys here take the stats after 3 blue hen slaughters and say “we’re 7th nationally in rushing’ and “our QB has the third best rating in the country”. Or we could not be very good…ever think of that? Your schedule’s not soft if you’re not good. These rankings reflect the portal movement so far. Could Rutgers be the next Indiana? Highly doubt it. I hear what you're saying. There's a lot of unknown right now compared to the usual with Franklin (2020 and 2025 were the outliers). The expectations were a double digit win season with him. We went 8-4 in O'Brien's first year, and I don't think that qualifies as not very good. Hoping that PSU has a decent team in 2026.Or we could not be very good…ever think of that? Your schedule’s not soft if you’re not good.
100 wrongs don’t make 100 rights yoYou mean like every other team in the country does?
