They live in Huntington, Everybody in Huntington are Marshall fans, pretty much, and dislike WVU ... just sayin' !!
I live in the tri-state area (Ashland) KY and you're right. I don't like Marshall but I attended a few games back in the day just to watch Jason Williams and Randy Moss.
Both Hawthorne's were late bloomers bc typically players become sensationalized i.e. OJ Mayo, Andrew Wiggins, even P Pat.

I bet Williams and Moss were fun to watch together. Two all time greats in that little area is an unreal. At the same time is a miracle.
I sure hope so because Pope seems to lose out on most recruits lol.
lol. Yeah he hasn’t exactly been killing it has he. Who knows though, maybe we get two or three of the best players we could hope for within a week or two. Really, we have time to put together a heck of a team as long as they can get some great fits. I know most don’t have much faith right now but it can still be a great season if things fall our way. I’m still pulling hard for Mark to do something special, he’s a great guy in my book but it’s now or never I’m afraid.
He overachieved his first year but unless he picks up some more quality players, it's gonna be a long year.
I hope it’s so long it goes into late march.
there’s probably about five or so superstars who would be worth going big for, ( some have draft decisions), I have no idea if they could actually get us to the sweet 16 or better, but a couple together would sure in the heck make me feel better.Pope is still the coach so we can expect to lose a lot by double digits and get down by double digits a crap ton and miraculously win some. Who gives a crap if he's a great guy or not. It'd about winning big at UK.
I give a crap, but Being a great guy doesn’t get him a pass, just saying I want him to do well because he loves Kentucky and is also a good person. With that said, No one loves Kentucky more than I do, Winning is first, Second and Third on the list for me. I’ll still like him if he fails but would rather him be successful here, if he isn’t he can hit the door.
They're from Beckley, WV, which is about 80 miles from Huntington. They both transferred to the prep school in Huntington. The older one was committed to WVU before DeVries left. Honestly, neither one of them are anywhere close to what I would consider Kentucky type recruits, but the program isn't the same as what it used to be so who knows?
