Pope selling fans on this team?

How does Pope sell the fans that this team will have a chance to compete for a SEC title or NCAA title this fall? His first fall news conference after we have been picked to finish 10+ in the league, what is his argument going to be as to why we will be better than predicted? Obviously we will get a few more players, but there doesn't appear to be any game changers that would change our ceiling as of now.

There is no selling this team. This team isn't even built like a team Pope is comfortable coaching. Should have taken this experiment to behind the woodshed and ended it. Now we are blue Indiana, well the Indiana of the past decade. Indiana looks to be back.

Hadn’t thought about it but it will be funny to watch him try to say with a straight face that this team will be trying to compete for a national title. I would tell him to hire an acting coach but he better be saving his money. He will be on the unemployment line a year from now and I don’t see anyone other than a very small school hiring him. In fact I think he likely ends up an assistant for a few years until he can fix his image.

He doesn't seem like he takes any advice anyway

Pope would actually have to show his face/voice in the media to sell anything. Anyone realize he hasn't said a word or made an appearance since that odd presser he compared his first two years to Cals last four? Like not a single word. He's in hiding. As the coach at Kentucky.

Understand the assignment my a$$.

It’s like driving a Pontiac Fiero
I drove my buddy’s in high school and it was like a little race car. Took curves at 90 and had a ball. Luckily I survived, but man it was a fun day. This team will be nothing close to that much fun. 😆. I get the point, but those little cars were awesome on a Kentucky back road that is.

my sister had a red Fiero and drove me to Ezell Harding for school everyday in Nashville in it. That was ballin’ in 1988.

April or May of 92 is when I drove his car. Man those things were like those slick tire track cars you can drive. Go carts for some I guess. Really like a big toy that could kill you. But I was smiling the whole time. I think they could go about 140 or something like that. Crazy fun but dangerous. Thanks for the memory bud.
