Have you forgotten Sunday? He had one bad outing. In a non-save situation where closers tend to be less focused and can struggle.

The mets...on an 11-game losing streak....are gonna send to the mound everybody's pick for Rookie of the Year to go against the Minnesota Twins and a guy with a record of 0-3 and an ERA of 6.10. I like the mets chances in this one. I predict the losing streak ends tonight.
I did. Stand corrected. Probably because it was one of many games this season that I haven't bothered to watch. Not much worth watching. But I did see some highlights and I dont consider that a terrible outing with a razor thin lead.Have you forgotten Sunday?
A good closer will hold on to a razor thin lead.I did. Stand corrected. Probably because it was one of many games this season that I haven't bothered to watch. Not much worth watching. But I did see some highlights and I dont consider that a terrible outing with a razor thin lead.
There hasn't been one yet that has been 100% Not even ones that are enshrined. I can recall the great Rivera giving up some against the Mets even.A good closer will hold on to a razor thin lead.

No, but he can freakin' hit. Couldn't we use a little of that right now?can he pitch?
Doug- here is a little of where I think Stearns really did F up- He brings in a guy like Bichette, who is just a hitting machine. And he wasn't a really good SS but did seam to improve when at 2B. Both middle infield spots.Back of the player's card mean sh*t right now. This team couldn't piss in the ocean even if they were standing in it.
The root cause of the issue is that Bichette was Plan B. Stearns was all in on Kyle Tucker. I think his entire roster build was predicated on getting Tucker.Doug- here is a little of where I think Stearns really did F up- He brings in a guy like Bichette, who is just a hitting machine. We bring him in early and to have Lindor at SS and Bichette at 2B would be brilliant and most likely, Bitchette thrives. But since he already traded one of his best and most popular players for an aging 2B...he couldn't do that- so, Bichette had to completely learn a new position while also learning NY.
Stearns also had a kid who showed last year- that when he was given 3B to play everyday- he got good in the field and improving, but he became a dangerous bat- but heck- we now had to put a very uncomfortable Bichette there to learn a new position, we have to take the kid out of his position he was thriving at and make him a nomad.
Stearns has zero clue how to optimize a team.
What he has built, has made it much more unlikely that any of these players can have a normal year.
And that shows you something very important- we have the wrong GM. A good GM is always a step or two ahead. He didn't even have Bichette in his back pocket. And that is why we over paid for a player friendly contract. And yet- a much more consistent- you know what you get and you know you get 160 games of it- is not worth making an offer to.The root cause of the issue is that Bichette was Plan B. Tried to warn you guys.Devin Williams is trash.
Yup. Being 9 games under .500 sucks. But if you have to be 9 games under .500, better it be 23 games in than 123 games in.we are 23 games in and 9 games under .500
Nope on Lance Johnson. Never wore Number 12. He was Number 1. In fact that was his nickname - One-dog. He starred on one of the more interesting Met teams in their history - the 1996 team that had three guys with career years (Johnson, Gilkey, Hundley) and still finished 20 under .500.#12
Darling
Lindor
Lagares
Alomar
Lance Johnson

Problem is you throw Semien any pitch - and he has no chance….Mauricio gets thrown a curve and has no chance.
It was obvious from the moment Stearns signed Frankie Montas that he was over his head !Doug- here is a little of where I think Stearns really did F up- He brings in a guy like Bichette, who is just a hitting machine. Stephen A Smith nails it. I disagree with him often, but not here.
And WTAF was so funny to Lindor at end of video after he whiffed. Frankly, he is a big part of the problem. His after game interviews are disgusting. Was discussing this today with a long time Met fan in person. Someone needs get mad and start kicking some @SS in the dugout and locker room. This team is soft and weak and shows no pulse.
McClean should stay away from Lindor.
Apologies to Zak, but this made me laugh in a period of personal loss and fandom that has not had any laughs in the past two weeks.
