I can’t imagine the things behind the scenes that has to be at play in order for that statement to be made.
This clearly shows multiple people on the board or within the university are trying to force change.
Good. There needs to be big changes within the university. We have become a good ol boys network. Students and fans be damned, we got admins who needs millions!

Dig into JMI’s contract and conflicts of interest, so on and so forth. There’s plenty to go around, just use the law school situation to break the ice on the rest of the thievery.

ETA: his mention of the $1 mil job with no actual duties, that has to be Barnhart, right? Or perhaps they’ve cooked up a whole host of similarly useless titles for their “network”.

Most definitely. That was directly aimed at Barnhart and that sleazy corrupt golden parachute deal he worked out for himself.

That statement really is something else. Not sure if I’ve ever seen a governor call out institutional corruption at the state’s flagship University quite like that before.

It increasingly seems like UKmay need a total overhaul of its leadership from top to bottom.

This is straight up getting ugly but is exactly what needs to be done. While I cannot stand Beshear, this ain’t about politics. This is about a select few crooks completely overtaking the main university of the entire states athletic dept.

Eli, Mitch Barnhart, and Mark Pope literally need to leave Lexington today.

I’m sure people will make this political. But, I’m happy people are realizing there are serious problems at UK. It’s a cesspool of greed and corruption
I am by no means a fan of the governor. I can put my personal feelings aside. If he can step in and fix this **** show that we are witnessing. He’s got my full support on this issue.

Pardon my ignorance. I understand that Kentucky state funded school. What jurisdiction does the governor actually have over the university, if any at all? Does he have the power to override the board of trustees? Can the governor fire Dr. Eli Capilouto ? How do these things even work?
While he might be right, AB loves him some big government.

Who’s got the scoop on the law school dean? I’ve read the articles indicating that the faculty opposed the appointment on the grounds of qualifications and tenurability, but why did the administration appoint him anyway? What are the politics behind the choice?
