Folks- no telling where we end up with Pope, and no argument Pope has a sinking ship on his watch, but let’s collectively try to channel our vitriol towards Eli and Cap. Pope was not the right guy and the JMI collective squarely fell on the mens basketball program’s shoulders to benefit the less prestigious programs. If the trajectory continues there is no clearer party responsible than the leadership who brought our bread and butter program to mediocrity, Mitch and Eli.

Barnhart made the easy hire instead of landing an established coach that could handle the spotlight and track record of this program- and Eli was party to it.

Now MB gets to sit back and collect on an Emeritus type role?

Barnhart should be Persona non grata for the mess he’s left behind, not a 900+k advisory salary.

Those two guys answer to no one. They aren’t actually held accountable for anything, no standards to meet, no pushback on anything they do / have done. They’ve created and maintained an environment where they’re complete and unchallenged rulers over their domains and the result is what we see now - an athletic department that is the living embodiment of cronyism and a president that has seemingly cared more about how many buildings can get built under his watch than the actual success of the department and even the greater university as a whole.

The problem is the “bread and butter program” to Mitch is football. It’s all about revenue with Mitch and Eli. They do not care about anything else.

I love football, but I would sooner watch UK football go 2-10 every year and give ALL the money to basketball than have both programs mediocre. We are a basketball school and that’s what the people of this state love. Unfortunately the younger generations now aren’t being indoctrinated like we were, because UK is on a decade-long suck.

Barnhart will go down in history as the worst thing to ever happen to Kentucky Basketball.

The man was built in a lab and engineered to screw up and ruin the greatest college basketball program of all time, while the idiots in charge sat there and watched.
Exactly- channel our emotions and feedback to Eli and MB.

Roasting Pope is only going to make us look like ******** and will be used against us whenever it is we go back to market.

Idk what idk but I do believe Basketball and Football can eat. Programs 3-8 are where I take issue- and I don’t care if I can see that MBB isn’t fully resourced to be a top 3 program in the country.
