This is actually really good. Donnie Freeman would have been a bandaid. Everyone would have gotten excited but we would have still lost 13 or more games. We entertained Freeman on campus from Tuesday to Thursday and he drug it out until the following Monday to sign with a school he didn’t even visit and got in on him late. The two guys we have signed were unnecessarily hard as well. The next 11 months are going to be brutal, but at least we can assume now that there is no way we have to endure another offseason like this again.
This is why I say Moreno is done with Pope. Any player with an upside is being told he won’t get the training he needs under Pope.
We have to wait a calendar year to start the rebuild process. Why wait? Having a lame duck coach for a whole year is harmful to the brand.

The damming part is former players and coaches steering him away. It’s not negative recruiting from just the other schools, it’s everyone in basketball saying stay away from Kentucky they are not where you want to be. They are correct.
