Freeman better take the biggest/best offer for him if it is anyone better than he is. Betting on yourself is easy when there isn't any other comparable competition
I hate him so much that I want him to be ours! Guy is a killer in the portal and a solid X's & O's coach. Plus, his wife would look good in Kentucky blue.
It'll be a bunch of seniors hoping they can get a waiver. Seth Trimble (UNC) and Marcus Hill (A&M) are two of the first today.
Ky should give this kid a long look. Top 35 in talented class of 2025 . Huge upside with great size at 6-8 230. Rather have him than the guy from RMU.
Totally miss there - could have been UK's if they ditched on Pope this year. Perfect culture fit, 100% AA badass.
It is okay, to keep a woman that far out of his league happy he needs to get paid big bucks and gain celebrity status. Was only at Arky State 2 years and USF one. Will be no problem to get him to Lexington after 1 year at Providence. From Olean, NY, which is only ~ 30 minutes further away from Lexington than it is from Providence.

Should have gone after Elyjah Freeman if you’re going after an Auburn player.
The PF spot is tough, but I think they'll be vindicated not paying $4 mil to Freeman. There's a chance he could be a lottery pick and worth every penny. There's also a world where it could be another season the kid doesn't play 20 games. We've seen that script before.
Take the financial windfall, sign Morton, a backup C, and McBride. Should have enough left over for another guard. Cox from Colgate would be nice.

Potentially. Didn't say it was ideal, but it's not like Freeman had Syracuse rolling through the ACC either.
He's going to have to land a star. His Kentucky tenure depends on it. If he doesn't, then there's an extremely likely chance we've got a new coach next year.

Can Pope allow or ask Hawthorne to make it official. At this point he may need to avg 9-10 points a game for us.
My biggest concern is that we weren't prepared. Not having a GM to work this stuff out is a killer. We should've had one the season before to help with the portal and roster decisions. Injuries didn't help, but there were some tough decisions that needed to be made. The 2 big ones being whether JQ and Oweh were worth their prices.
Freeman, in a vacuum, and his commitment shouldn't be make or break. He should be like the 3rd option at the 4. Given his injury history and really "ok" performance so far, I'd think we'd be sinking more resources/time into a better player.
I don't know the equation though. Money could be tied up elsewhere and the 4 position might have a certain budget. We might not be able to overpay Freeman. I have no clue what the financial situation is.
