That would be a good move to make at this point.
I get it, but should it be this hard the last few years at Kentucky? Serious question. I know History and all the perigee doesn’t really matter anymore, it’s all about Money. So shouldn’t Kentucky, with just as much money and more than most, be able to get some of the guys they want? At minimum the 2nd or 3rd choice?

He is good because he is the best of what’s left. Pope got burnt depending on the portal for a PF. There are some good ones, but unsurprisingly, Pope picked the wrong one to target. I’d be on the horn right now and pivot. Freeman isn’t that good.

Refusing to consider all the facts is your choice but it is unfair and stupid. If you would look at the link I attached you would realize Pope has played the two toughest schedules in school history. The SRS number rates performance against said schedule and it isn't nearly as bad as you believe.
3 out of 4 against Barnes, 1-0 against Sheyer and slick Rick, 1 and 1 against Cal and Few, all with us riddled with injuries. You win the award for biggest Pope hater on the inernet. You literally never stop.

I think the issue here is that they had Rancik. He wanted to come, and Donnie Freeman isn’t really that much better. Offensively Rancik fits Popes system probably better in fact and we continue to get used in a way that allows Agents to increase the value of their clients at Kentuckys expense. The business side of these negotiations need to be upgraded significantly or else we will never land any players we are targeting.

I would not be surprised if this is part of a pressure campaign between Freeman's agent and Trilly, to squeeze more money out of Pope. This is not sustainable. It's not all Pope's fault, and it's mostly on Barney.

Freeman’s camp is most likely trying to create urgency from teams and get someone to bite right before the end of the portal. They may see the writing on the wall that if a more highly touted PF enters that readjusts the market, they lose out on potential millions. For now it’s just a stalemated waiting game.
