Seems like the entire situation has soured and he's not signing with UK, which means he wasn't ever going to sign with UK, and he was just trying to leverage UK for more money elsewhere.
It also means that no one KNEW anything, and they were just guessing.
I'd like to see which agencies have been representing which players that visited UK this year and last. Would not surprise me if it is the same agency or agencies pulling the same crap regardless of who it is visiting. Would also not surprise me if the agents for different players were communicating with each other and colluding to drive the prices higher.

I forgot that no young players improve anymore. They are who they were. Oweh was the last of a dying breed of players who improve. He averaged 11.4 at Oklahoma and now people consider him a star player. In today’s world, people here would call transfer Oweh a nice player off the bench and talk about how we will be trash.

Such an odd take. The guy built a business off of informing BBN and promoting BBN. He brings the university a ton of pub and notoriety, while also giving you the non UK media slanted view on things. Like him or hate him, it's odd not to acknowledge that what he's done and is doing is good for fans of the Cats.

I used to feel that way but no...Matt Jones is all about Matt Jones. He doesn't bring us pub or notoriety, the fanbase does. The fans would be here with or without him
Thank God for Matt Jones, me nor half of the country wouldn’t know UK basketball without the pub and notoriety he brings. The control he has over this fanbase should be studied. A quarter of the post on this board are according to Matt Jones, or listening to KSR.
His word is not gospel. He’s an entertaining radio host that may not know everything.
I can give you free updates just from reading tweets and they’ll have the same accuracy as his free and paid updates.
Both of those things can be true. They're not mutually exclusive. Matt can be all about Matt (he's not, he's just a business man...and a darned good one) and still provide that service. Would BBN still be BBN without Matt? Sure. Would BBN get as much publicity or be as informed without Matt and KSR? I think the only way you can answer yes to that is if you don't like him as a person.
I'm about as conservative fiscally as a person can be, while also leaning left on social issues. So, essentially, I'm Matt in beliefs on a lot of things. Oddly, with his religious background, he's probably a tad more conservative on religious issues. That's part of why I like him as much as I do. But more than any of that, I appreciate that I can live in swMO and still get daily UK information that wasn't generated by the university.
If KSR went away, a good part of information that BBN would go with it. You or anyone else choosing to believe what he puts out there is TOTALLY your choice. Part of sports entertainment is opinion. It's odd to me that grown a$$ed adults will just take everything anyone in the "media" as gospel. In 2026 that's such a silly thing to do.

To me it's just all about accessibility and the medium at which it's delivered. And it's not manufactured by the university's PR propaganda machine. Also, and this part is very subjective, I find them entertaining.
Well then don’t pay for them. From this fan’s perspective, KSR (site and radio show) is very much appreciated. It helps connects the fan base and gives me insight on what’s happening in the UK sports world. Before they existed, there was a gap that needed to be filled. The UK world didn’t have a platform for this. Now we do nearly 20 years running. This is much better than the days before it. But that’s just my opinion.
