I feel like we recruit Del Jones every year.

He has some talent, he's a heavy usage guard who can create his own shot and gets to the line a lot. Not good efficiency numbers and a low Assist to TO rate. Also rates as a terrible defender.

Interesting Agency he has......is Sha moonlighting as an Agent? lol

What exactly did you expect? They’re not getting a 20 ppg guy from a P4 conference. I think there has actually been an uptick in quality of guys they’re going after but the reality is you’re getting solid players and hoping for a needle mover to emerge with Shu’s NIL budget.

A low major school like us is realistically looking at conferences like the MAAC, OVC, MVC for guys that put up numbers and then taking a chance on P4 kids needing a fresh start. Is what it is.
It seems Sha is doubling down on his strategy to spread his budget on 12 players rather than spending 75-80% on the starting 5.

Based on the players we have been connected with it seems Sha is trying to build a roster full of guys in the 700-800 range which IMO is a terrible way to spend his budget. Other possibilities is he's holding money in case Budd comes back or we don't have the $8M that most think we have.

I'd spend 80% on my 5 starters so if we have $8M, I'd spend 6.5 on my 5 starters. Use about $4.5-5M on 3 really solid players to lead my team. Use 750k-1.0M each on starters 4 and 5, then spend the remaining on 4 bench rotation guys.

Looks like we aren't involved for Stink. Sha said he can find plenty of other players who stink for a lot less money.

This kid is interesting as a Budd Clark-like player. Listed at 5'10" 175, he's talented on the offensive side with scoring ability as both an attacker and a 3-pt shooter. He's a good playmaker, gets to the line a lot and converts and is an overall efficient offensive player. Biggest downside is he has brutal defensive numbers but that's Sha's specialty.

This kid would be a take for me. We have to get some offensively talented players in here somehow. In this case the tradeoff is a small guy with poor defensive numbers. We should be able to live with that.

Gotta shoot the 3 better than Budd's 22 percent, I hope. Is he really 5'10" because Clark is probably 5'8" at most.

Here's another PG. This guy has good size at 6'4" 195 and is a good playmaker offensively but not a good 3-pt shooter. His scoring comes from attacking the rim and drawing fouls but overall he's not very efficient offensively. He does rate as a good defender.

He can play at the BE level as a playmaker and defensive anchor. His biggest weakness is his shooting though. His shooting % is subpar to poor at every level. 26.5% from 3 and 67% from the FT line and an eFG% of 45.1% which ranks in the 24th percentile. You'd have to surround him with shooters and let him play make, attack the rim and anchor your defense.

Some tough schools to beat on his list.

The offensive analytics are stellar. Ranks in the 90th percentile in most of the advanced offensive metrics. Defense is exact opposite, in the bottom 20th percentile.

35.7% from 3 (50-140)
89.5% FT shooter (170-190)
51.4% 2ptFG% (111-216)
4.3 to 1.8 Assist to Turnovers
123.9 KenPom O-Rating (92nd percentile)

Type of guy we should take a risk on IMO. Of course I know nothing about him, but based on what you just posted and a few subsequent google searches.

They did not pay him. Not sure how Rutgers still has more money than seton hall, don’t they have like 8 rostered players?

Trilly shared the name of a F visiting us, Josiah Parker from Florida Atlantic. Averaged 9.6 pts & 6.0 rebounds this year although was much better in AAC play where he was Freshman Player of the Year averaging 12.2 pts & 8.3 rebounds in 18 games with a 50.9% FG%.

Offensively he's a slasher/driver and offensive rebounder. Not a 3-point threat at all (4 for 25 ouch!), he's a 6'7" 225 Forward more in the Aligbe/Ndefo mold. Draws a good number of fouls (4.8 per 40), is a solid offensive rebounder and a good finisher at the rim (66.4%). Rates as a good all-around defender although not much of a disruptor (low Block & Steal rates) but that is Sha's strength as a coach. He does rate as an excellent defensive rebounder. He led the AAC in Defensive Rebounding at 23.6% and was in the 94th percentile nationally.

An undersized PF who can't shoot but plays with energy and aggression. More talented than Aligbe and more willing to play inside than Fisher. His most appealing attribute is his rebounding. 12.6 rebounds per 40 minutes in the AAC as a Freshman Forward is impressive. Rebounding from our PF position was a big weakness for us. Our PFs got only 16.1% of our Team's Defensive Rebounds which was 359th in all of Division 1.

Would much rather prefer a PF who can Rebound, Defend and hit an open 3. This guy checks 2 of the boxes and would have to be paired with another PF who can shoot.
