Frost was not a full sized 49, and there is a reason he didn’t go back down to 41. Actually, both Jacob and Evan would have been better at 141. But the best wrestler of the 3 was there.

Interesting take. Seems like it would be close and no slam dunk to me, but I fully recognize you would probably know better than I.

I do agree the ideal weight for all 3 is probably 141, so your logic about who the best is makes sense.

Rumor floating around is Echemendia wanted 149, where the bigger Frost is penciled in.
And if that happened, Frost isn't big enough for 157...so Metcalf was threatened with having both Frosts portaling out.
It was a choice to lose Ech vs losing both Frosts.
Given that ISU is looking at a rough year next season anyway, it was an easy call.

I have first hand knowledge that the Frosts were never threatening to enter the portal. They are very close to graduating with degrees that will make them very successful. Money is not in the equation for them.

Nice to hear of kids pursuing wrestling goals while keeping other important long term goals. I know there is so many like them but still good to hear.
