Where do you think Malachi Moreno, Hawthorne, and Kam Williams would rank in the portal overall and at their respective position?

Where do you think Malachi would rank compared to other bigs? I'm especially curious because of the trend towards big men
He’d be near the top of the list. Has rare combination of finesse and traditional big skills, regular starter as a freshman and former McDAA with expectation to majorly blossom

Moreno is projected top 20 2027 draft pick and people don’t think he’d be a top 20 portal option had he entered. You can’t fix stupid I guess. He’d have been the number 2 center in the portal IMO.

I think some only see him for what he wasn’t last year and there are things that he needs to work on. The things he was however and the potential would have made him a top 10-15 portal guy imo.

Yeah, he’d have been top 25 no doubt probably top 15, Kam 40-60th and Hawthorne 200+

I think there is also going to be some addition by subtraction. With Chandler starting the only guard we had on the bench period was Jasper Johnson. For most of the second half of the year the only small forward we had on the bench was Noah, and while I was impressed with his rebounding and nose for the ball, he just could not make shots. The same could be said about shooting with AJ but he could not guard a post in the post. Don't get me started about BG.

To sum up, for most of the second half of the season, our only bench players were BG, AJ, JJ, and Noah. While all these guys have the potential to be good in the future, ALL were terrible this past season with BG, AJ, and JJ each being one of the worst 5 rotation players at their position I've seen in my over 55 years of UK fandom. I am certain our bench next year will be better at each position collectively adding up to plus double digit points per game.

I think Kam would be top 40. He finally got comfortable & started coming on before the injury & when he came back he continued shooting well. I think he would be a highly coveted 6-7 shooter. He was a big keeper!!

It was his early struggles that has skewed mamy UK fans view.

Malachi would be a top 5 portal recruit. He is a proven SEC quality starting big man who exceeded expectations his freshman year.

Those of you saying higher than like 20 are delusional.
Who's better, Moreno or Cyril?

Crazy how folks now put down talented freshman. They pick them apart thinking they should be so good they are all lottery picks. News flash folks you need very talented freshman who will play 2 to 3 years before going to the draft. Didnt the Cal years teach you anything?

Moreno is a must have for Kentucky. He probably is top 10 in this class of transfers but it is a weak class. Since he isn’t in the portal you have to compare him to returnees at other schools. I think he will return but I don’t think he wants to.

And one other thing. These guys testing the waters and gonna go to the last minute their value is low on the college side. It can be a season killer if you wait on that guy. On the other hand if patience pays off by waiting like Michigan it could be the difference between a title and a nit. These decisions are not easy. I would hope Moreno is paid at his market value and comes back sooner rather than later.

Last year he was in the 20s when we signed him
