I too wanted Rancik, because he fits the Pope system & was a better teammate for Stokes.

No, but after watching some Colorado tapes, I think we prioritized the wrong guy. I think Rancik is damn near perfect for Pope's offense and his upside is sky high. He might be a year away but his upside is lottery pick. I do think Freeman is better on the defensive end right now so there is that.

You beat me to it, plus noone should be building a team further into the future anymore. Every season is a fresh start now. Love it or hate, that's the way the current rules are. Just when we thought Cal's one-and-done style was leaving with him, we get this type of one-and-done.

Dont think Pope can take a chance on someone who might be a year away as if our season isnt successful and players produce Pope may not be here to seem him really start helping or producing.
