I’m still mixed in this. He’s clearly having success which we obviously want here. He’s also such an obnoxious dbag that would be hard to route for no matter what sideline he’s on.
I’m completely fine with him being the most outrageous douchebag in the whole world if he were to come here and get us the wins he has got at UConn. I honestly don’t care if he brings Katina Powell in as an assistant coach if he came here.
Taris Reed is gonna be very hard to replace. They will be good, but this might be like the season after they lost Clingan. Hard to replace either of those guys in one year.
The only reason Hurley would leave Uconn is to coach in the NBA.
The problem is I don’t think his antics would be accepted here. For starters him butting heads with that ref would have 100% cost him the game if he was our coach. If he gets the UK whistle, what’s his tourney record look like?

Pretty risky move IMO. Projected as a first rounder and some have him as a lottery pick. Stock could drop. I certainly don’t see it going up. Again, pretty risky move for a “sharp shooter” that shot 33% on 200+ 3 attempts last year.

He actually was disappointing to watch at Duke. I mean I’m glad he wasnt great, but he also flopped a ton and pretty soft.
Hines averaged 6 and 5 at SH. Will be a big drop from Reed.
Backcourt is loaded but overall I don’t see them being nearly as good as this year.

True but Hurley will get another frontcourt piece in the portal plus he has Jaylin Ross coming back as a sixth man and a couple top 50 HS recruits to boot
His wife is one of those weirdos who thinks New England is the best place in America, it was never gonna happen. Only way Hurley leaves is to one of the northeast NBA teams.
Like it or not, if Hurley stays, it’s not a matter of if but when they’ll eventually pass us in titles because we’re run by incompetent and corrupt d-bags who will gladly let UK fall into despair so they can fill their pockets with cash.

Same here. Those were all the best outcomes but I’m amazed that wasn’t called anything.
Yaxel took the same risk last year and it worked out mighty well for him.
Crazy how NIL has changed things. Players rejecting a first round guarantee seemed virtually inconceivable a couple years ago. Now it’s become a new normal thing.

Reed and especially Karaban....Hurley does not have 2 titles without Alex Karaban, He just came up big again and again in key moments.
