I'm a lot of fun at partiesIf you weren’t trying to be negative, you did a very poor job!![]()
We have a lot of young talented players. Don’t forget we added Coon as well, and Trey Thompson looks very good. Stirtz was incredible and that’s a huge loss, but this roster is very talented with the new additions. And the odds are we probably add one more player. If those are the 2 signs and that's all we add out of portal I'm going to be a little underwhelmed. Not trying to be negative but think at guard in particular we need a guy that's ready to come in and score 14 to 18 a night. I don't think its realistic for Coleman to be that this soon. Maybe after a season or 2. If we can get another instanr scorer with these 2 I'll consider it a good portal season.
Speaking of Ty'Reek and him making a visit....

Ty'Reek Coleman will be in Iowa City this weekend.
The Illinois State freshman PG had a consistent and successful season for the Redbirds, averaging 10 points – and starting 19 games.
Shot 37-89 from 3 (41.6%).
Had an impressive finish to the season, including a 5 game stretch where he scored 14+ in 4 MVC games, with less than 28mpg.
Was the team's leading scorer in 4 of the last 10 outings.
The fact that McCollum already recruited him and has a relationship with him is very significant. I'm very hopeful that we land him this weekend.
We will get Coleman and McKeever.
50/50. We’ll see how the visit goes with Minnesota goes Tuesdayand leave the final roster spot open in case Banks gets another year?
not sure where things are at with Kyan Evans
We will get Coleman and McKeever.
Coming soon…Nice now maybe people will step away from the ledge a little. Get the big guy and let Ben do what he wants with the last spot.
Another guard and McKeever!

Both Iowa and Minnie signed guards after Evans visited so who knows? Evans may still want a lot of $ despite his down year at UNC. Evans also has only 1 year left so Jeremiah Johnson is the more intriguing prospect to me. (plus its a great movie!)not sure where things are at with Kyan Evans
6'4" guard Jeremiah Johnson has 2 years left.
He is a former 4-star recruit & is a native of Del City, Oklahoma.
Last season he averaged 32 min, 15.2 pts, 3.5 rebs and 1.9 assists. He shot 45% overall, 37% from three and 86% from the FT line.
Probably since Banks could still come backI wonder if there is room in the budget for 3, if McKeever pulls the trigger and commits?

With yesterdays committment at guard I wonder how much cash is left for the rim protector, and is it enough?
I doubt Coleman would get any more than Sage or Koch. Should be enough for McKeever and Evans. With yesterdays committment at guard I wonder how much cash is left for the rim protector, and is it enough?
Hope you are correct!I doubt Coleman would get any more than Sage or Koch. Should be enough for McKeever and Evans.
We need a McKeever announcement!
Wanted to play for old coach.Wondered if he wouldn't head North after Coleman announced.
That, and perhaps they were willing to pay a bit more. Who knows. I think there are still many good PG options out there that have more than 1 year of eligibility left.Wanted to play for old coach.
Yes, way to quiet on the McKeever front. We need a McKeever announcement!
I’m not 100% certain that Iowa would have taken both Coleman and Evans. Maybe we would have … I’m just not sure. That, and perhaps they were willing to pay a bit more. Who knows. I think there are still many good PG options out there that have more than 1 year of eligibility left.
