Let's take Advincula for example. After his freshman year at Cal he won the Cape League batting title as he hit .392 with a wooden bat in 38 games and 130 at bats. On July 15 that summer it was .404. The next summer his numbers were slightly down again with the Cape, if down was .360 with wood bats (it wasn't, he led the best college summer league). He would've taken the batting title home again (the player who won, Aidan Robbins, is now crushing baseballs down in Austin, TX, his batting title number was .307), if he didn't leave early to journey down to Atlanta.
