Our loyalty is to UK, not a specific person/coach. We want what’s best for the UK program.
So if we don’t think someone the best option for program, why is it disloyal to point that out?

He says UK fans are unreasonably demanding. Said you can’t be the best fans and be so critical. How about Steeler fans in the NFL, Ohio State or Alabama in football, Yankees in baseball . Let’s see how they would handle sucking for a decade. I can tell you, they are critical. One part that makes BBN special is that they expect excellence and pressures UK to deliver. Maybe not enough.

Having the opinion that the current coach may not work out is fine. Expressing that is ok too. But there's a line between expressing that and absolutely trashing the current coach every chance you get. And, what is the program if not the current coach and players? History? Winning? I don't know man. To me, it just feels like a lot of guys, on here especially, are loyal to WINNING, not really to UK. I get where Perry is coming from.

I don’t think it’s disloyalty. The fanbase is just extremely bipolar.
In good times, we’re the most pleasant, nicest fans. After wins, any win, some fans will proclaim us as the best team in the country and anyone who dare question that is a fool.

Btw, I don’t think PS’s saying criticism equals lack of loyalty. I think he’s saying people whose exclusive contribution is complaints, negativity are sus to him. I think there’s a ring of truth to it.
UK fans want to win. It's been a rough last 6 seasons and 7 if u include the awful covid ending to 2020 with no tournament. 2 of the 3 seasons before that UK probably should have made final fours but didn't.

There are different types of fans. One type believes they need to find the positive in everything no matter how bad it gets. We have to reject this toxic positivity from the larger fandom if we want to stay/return to the top.
Mark Pope makes 5 million a year plus endorsements, he is paid to perform. I don’t feel sorry for him, I’m sure even with that weak attempt to compare his last two years to Cal last 4, Pope isn’t dumb. He knows he sucks. He actually said in his press conference, if he isn’t performing, he wants BBN to let him know about it.
This 1000%, this is how top programs stay on top.
